Product Description

Four people. Four goals. Four endings.
In the third and final book of the USA Today bestselling By His Game series, the rules of the game no one knew they’d have to play are blurring, and when the past becomes the opposing team, hearts aren’t the only thing at stake of being lost…

Finding naked pictures of her best friend on her boyfriend’s phone wasn’t in Everleigh White’s five year plan. Neither was moving back to Los Angeles, the city of dreams that never managed to make hers come true. There’s only so many years you can be in love with your best friend before you realize he’s never going to love you back, after all. If only her ex would stop showing up at the gym where she works, she’d be much happier.
Being a father at nineteen wasn’t how Reid North, the Vipers’ wide receiver, imagined his life going, but when his ex-girlfriend tricked him into parenthood, he accepted it. Eventually. Now, with his ex on the verge of being released from prison, he’s holding onto full custody of his seven year old son, Leo. Football and Leo have left Reid no time for dating… Until Everleigh comes back.
His best friend his whole life, Everleigh never knew Reid loved her. She left before he could tell her. Now she’s back in front of him, and he’s not letting go. Even if all he gets is her friendship again. But in a city like L.A., dreams come true when you’re least expecting it.
So do nightmares.
With their exes beating down their doors with demands and explanations, their hesitant and building relationship is threatened at every corner. They’re at serious risk of being intercepted by the past, and that’s a ball Reid is determined to catch.
Except desperation can lead to stupidity—and Reid soon realizes he can’t catch every ball, no matter how perfectly it’s thrown to him. This time a fumble could cost more than a few points.
It could cost him everything.

(INTERCEPTED is the third and final book in the By His Game series and can be read as a standalone, although it is advised to read BLINDSIDED and SIDELINED before, in this order.)

Intercepted is the third and final book in the By His Game Series.
I am a sucker for a story where friends become lovers. All that time spent being close, but never telling the other how deep their feelings go. This book has the added bonus of suspense and intrigue.
Reid North and Everleigh White have been friends since they bonded over a mutual hate of their mothers' social events, as children. Fourteen-year-old Ever knew that she'd always love Reid, but the four-year age gap meant the timing was never right. A year later, he was a father. By the time she was ready for college, she couldn't stand to be near him if she couldn't be more than his friend. So, she disappeared off to college without saying goodbye or contacting him again.
Four years later, Ever returns to L.A. when she discovers her boyfriend has been sleeping with her best friend. When Reid sees Ever again, he reveals that he wanted her too and he isn't wasting any more time. Their attraction is electric. He wants her and he's not taking no for an answer.
Unfortunately, their exes try to get in the way of their happiness.
Emma Hart beautifully captures the friendship between these two. They're so much alike. The playfulness between them made me laugh. I loved the memories of hiding behind curtains from their childhood.
Reid’s son, Leo, is adorable with his fixation on cooties. The relationship Reid has with his son is beautiful. As is, the way Ever blends into their little family and loves Leo as if he was her own.
The villains (yes - plural) add drama to spice up the story even more. The author pulls the turmoil and dread out of those scenes, with great affect.
It's always sad when a series ends, but I'll be looking forward to so much more from Emma Hart.
Highly enjoyable read! Five flares.

A great story where a child Leo steals your heart more so than the H & h, whom the story is focused on. Reid & Ever long time friends to lovers tale. Crazy exes cause havoc for both. Mention is made of previous characters from the earlier books in the series.
You can't go wrong with this author & her books.

I adore this book. Like seriously adore it. I love friends to lovers, and more than that I love when people have taken a long absence from each other and then find their way back to each other. I think it just makes everything so much more dramatic, and hey the only drama I like in my life comes from books.

So in this book Ever has been best friend with Reid for the vast majority of her life, in spite of the fact that she is four years younger than him. While four years might not seem like a whole lot when you are an adult, it is when you are 14 and someone else is 18. So while Ever has been in love with Reid for a long time, she doesn’t think anything will ever come of it. And Reid, well he’s been in love with Ever, but she’s too young to do anything about it so he waits. Until one day, after Ever graduates from college, literally up and leaves without so much as a word to Reid and doesn’t answer his calls or contact him for like four years. During this time Reid focuses on being a parent to his son, and Ever lives her life out of the L.A. spotlight and enjoying her freedom in NYC. Until she finds out her boyfriend is sleeping with her best friend and returns home.

I loved the interaction between Ever and Reid, even from the first moment that the two of them run into each other once she ends up back in town. There is so much sizzle between them. I loved the build up to the two of them admitted to how they feel about each other. Reid also has such a dirty mouth, and I have to admit sometimes I really don’t like that in characters, but it just works for them so well. From the minute the two of them stepped on the page together I wanted them to be together.

So much is going on in this book. Reid’s ex is getting out of jail and she is completely ready to try and ruin Reid’s life and mess up their son’s life as well. What I love about this story line is how much it shows how strong Reid and Ever are together. I love how Ever is so protective of Reid and his son, even after all the time apart. I love how strong she is for them, how much she loves them. The drama made the whole thing amped up with emotion. And Reid isn’t the only one with an ex back in town, Ever has one two, and a whole lot is going on behind the scenes with that (but I don’t want to spoil it for anyone).

I really adore the writing in this book, I really think I should be reading more Emma Hart, if this book is anything to go by. I recommend this book to anyone who loves a good romance book, it has the perfect balance or drama, sexy time, and true emotional connection with the characters. So check it out!

I am a huge fan of this series and these sexy football players and Reid's story did not disappoint! Actually, I think it was the best in the series!

I was immediately hooked when I read the epilogue and was unable to put this book down. We meet Everleigh (aka Ever) and Reid as teenagers trying to make the best out of the even their mothers dragged them to. Years later Everleigh is back in L.A. and hoping to not run into Reid, but low and behold he's right there at the gym she's working at.

I loved getting the back story of Everleigh and Reid, and watching them try to fight the feelings they had, and still have for one another. They both loved each other back when they were teenagers, but never told the other how they felt. So watching them come to terms with losing 4 years together was frustrating for both characters.

If you've read the other books in the By His Game series then you know Reid has his boy Leo, who is AMAZING, but we never really got a lot of information on his mother. Claire, Leo's mom is CRAZY and is about to get out of jail. So Everleigh coming back into the picture at the same time that Reid knows is going to be rough and he needs to be there for Leo is another twist in this book.

Everleigh also is dealing with her ex, who she caught sexting with her best friend and the reason she left NY. He's been calling and texting her non stop, and the things she says to him when she finally answers had me laughing out loud.

With Tom, and Claire back in the picture, can Reid and Everleigh really make things work? Everything seems to be going against them, but these two are just absolutely amazing together and meant for one another.

I loved the banter between these two characters, and the chemistry is HOT! I also absolutely adored Leo's character and many times in this book when things were getting rough, he would bring some light into the story.

This book is full of ups and downs, twists and turns, and a ton of surprises. I was on the edge of my seat a few times in this book trying to figure a few things out, and holding my breath for the best possible outcome for these two amazing characters. I loved seeing the previous characters in the series as well and seeing how things were going with them, but I absolutely loved seeing more of Reid and Everleigh.

The By His Game Series by Emma Hart is a beautifully written series of stand alones, and I absolutely loved Intercepted. The epilogue of this book was brilliant and left me wanting more. If only we could talk Emma into writing us some more books in this series? As much as I don't want to say goodbye to Jack, Macey, Corey, Leah, Reid and Everleigh, I couldn't have asked for a better ending to all of their stories.

I highly recommend this series if you are looking for some hot football stars, girls who don't put up with their crap, and all the craziness of being famous and in love. Each book is a stand alone, and are all absolutely amazing! Definitely add Intercepted to your TBR list today and fall in love with Reid!

However I gave four stares because of the editing errors, and omg there were a lot of them. With that said. I did really like the book, it was cute an sweet all wrapped up into one hot steamy sexual encounters. Reid's smoking hot
With a scripted body from playing football for the Vipers.
Ever also has a job at the gym teaching aerobics. Ever has been best friends with Reid since they were two years old. Cause their mom's were friends. But age 13 ever realizes she truly love Reid. But reads 4 years older than Ever. Reid's in love with Ever his best friend, but he is waiting until she is 18 years old, then he plans to kiss Ever and tell her he's in love with her. But things don't also go as planned. Ever and Reid have a lot of obstacles that occurred over NINE YEARS later.
I recommend this book it was a good story line. A cute Happy ever after, left with no cliff hangers. I had not read book 1 or book 2 for that didn't matter. It can be read as a stand alone.
This wasn't the first Emma Hart book I have read. I like her writing style and the flow of her books. But this fell short an rushed a few places, and the miss spelled words. Let's just say the editing was awful.

The finale book in the series. It was good, I enjoyed the banter between Ever and Reid. Though sometimes her snark got a little mean like she was purposely trying to hurt him.
The ex was a mess, lesson to keep it in your pants. Her ex friend was Single White Female off screen.
I do wish there was a little more wrap up for all the couples since this was a series ender.

Third and Final book in the series. The characters are related thru the LA Vipers football team. Everleigh White moved back to LA from NY after college after finding naked pics of her best friend on her boyfriend's phone. She doesn't want to be back in her hometown near her mother or her best friend growing up-the boy she loved Reid North. She never told him she loved him but when she left for NY she cut off all ties. Reid is a wide receiver and has a 7-yr old son Leo. Leo's mom is in prison and getting out in 10 days. She did drugs with Leo near, hurt him and left him places. Leo doesn't want to see his mother either. Reid didn't realize how much he missed his best friend Ever and that he is still in love with her. His heart broke when she left town before he could tell her his feelings. This was another amazing story with suspense twists and turns wrapped up in a love story. Incredible ending to the series.
