Product Description

L. P. Dover’s tantalizing Second Chances series scores once again as the Carolina Cougars’ infamous bad boy takes a shot at seducing a driven career woman who’s supposed to be out of bounds.

Trying to live down his very public indiscretions, Carolina Cougars kicker Jaxon Reed feels like the most hated man in the NFL. Fans and teammates alike treat him with the disrespect he figures he deserves. Unfortunately for them, Jaxon’s no easy target. As payback, he sets his sights on the quarterback’s sister: a sultry brunette who’s curvy, confident, and sexy as hell. But what begins as a revenge fling turns into so much more—a lesson in humanity, and in love.

Bristol Thomas doesn’t have time for games, especially those played by her brother’s Neanderthal teammates. A talented interior designer with lofty goals, she doesn’t know the first thing about football, or Jaxon—except that he’s exactly the type of man she usually avoids. But when his deep laugh and deeper kisses break through her walls, she becomes the target of a fan who’s obsessed with Jaxon. Now she needs to know that Jaxon has her back . . . because he already has her heart.

Intended For Bristol is another fantastic story from L.P. Dover. Third in her Second Chances series, this story focuses on Carolina Cougars bad boy Jaxon and interior designer Bristol, who is also the half sister of one of his team mates, a player he clashes with regularly.
Despite being part of a series, this story works well by itself. It's action-packed and fast-paced. If you're a fan of American football then the scenes on the field will make a whole lot of sense to you but if you're like me and don't know one end of the ball from another don't worry - L.P. Dover has seamlessly worked in explanations of what the various positions do in a way that makes it all quite clear without boring the reader.
I liked the well-rounded characters and enjoyed the story overall though there were a few moments which stretched the bounds of probability for me. That aside, this was a good story and I look forward to more from this author.

5.0 out of 5 stars Loved Jaxon & Bristol Story - Must Read! 7 December 2016

If you've never read one of L.P. Dover's Second Chance novels, then this one is a perfect one to start with...she will have you falling in love with Jaxon Reed and wondering about the other characters in this book.

Jaxon Reed has done some pretty stupid stuff in the past and he has finally getting past it all and making friends on the team. Things have definitely been looking up for Jaxon. It isn't until the Cougars bring in a new quarterback that Jaxon decides to seek revenge with the new quarterback's sister. But as he continues pursuing Bristol...he finds himself falling for her. This book will have you yelling at Jaxon and praying that things will work out for the both of them and cringing at many key moments.

I can't wait to read more of the second chance novels and get lost in the stories.

5.0 out of 5 stars This is a Fantastic Story!!! 7 December 2016

Intended for Bristol by L.P. Dover.....This book was another fantastic story that kept me turning pages and will hit all your emotion buttons. There was so much going on with, mystery, hot football players, some suspense, hot sex scenes and emotions everywhere, what more can you ask for. Jaxon, a hot NFL kicker, only does one night stands and not very nice kind of full of himself. Bristol, a beautiful interior designer and had her heart broken by an NFL player has sworn off athletes. Will Jaxon be able to break through Bristol's barrier? Jaxon also has Bristol's brother to get through. L.P. Dover is one of my favorite authors, I can never go wrong with her book and this one is no different. I will definitely want to read this book, it is amazing. I voluntarily reviewed an advance readers copy of this book from publisher via NetGalley.
4.0 out of 5 stars A PERFECT MIX OF SEX, SECRETS & LIES 12 January 2017

Jaxon Reed has a reputation as the “bad boy” Kicker for the Carolina Cougars. He’s notorious for his despicable antics and penchant for one-night stands. Trying to put the past behind him, Jax is slowly winning over his teammates, as he tries to make amends to those he’s wronged in the past. But when a new quarterback joins the CC’s, Jax takes an instant dislike to his arrogant teammate. Old habits prove too hard to resist for Jax, especially when he spots the man in the company of the gorgeous woman that he has already set his sights on.

Bristol Thomas is a talented interior designer, who’s sworn off football players forever. Having been burned in the past, Bristol is vehement in her decision to keep a safe distance. But with a brother who plays for the NFL, steering clear of his teammates might not prove to be so easy. Especially when--unbeknownst to her--one of her brother’s teammates has already captured her eye.

While Jax’s intentions towards Bristol are not initially on the up and up, it is clear early on, that Jax is enamored by her. True feelings for Bristol begin to emerge, and Jax must navigate waters he’s never swam in before. But what happens when the truth is exposed? Will Bristol be able to see past the secrets and lies and believe the man whose heart she’s already claimed?

“Intended for Bristol” is the 9th standalone novel in author L.P. Dover’s Second Chances series. A quick, easy read, Jaxon and Bristol’s story is a perfect mixture of sex, secrets and lies. Throw in a side of fatal attraction, and you have all the makings of a truly captivating story and a great addition to the Second Chances series. In fact, it’s one of my favorites in this series, thus far.
5.0 out of 5 stars Sometimes hiding the truth can be the best thing, or it can totally backfire 15 December 2016

Sometimes hiding the truth can be the best thing, or it can totally backfire. In this situation, it's a little of both. Bristol is an interior designer, she doesn't know anything about Jax, never even heard of him. Jax is taken back by the beauty that he sees at the bar, the only downside is she is with the new quarterback. he devises a plan, but those plan fall by the wayside when he gets to know Bristol.

I absolutely love this book. L.P. has written a redeeming book for Jax. All he is, is misunderstood. He wants to fit in, but he goes about it the wrong way. He has busted his ass trying to get on the right side with his teammates, but sometimes, his antics come back and bit him in the butt. He knows this and learns from it. L.P. has written a beautiful book. It has everything that you would want in a romance book. If you haven't read any of her books yet, you are missing out!

3.0 out of 5 stars Bristol and Jax 12 December 2016

This one was tough. Jax as we know from previous books is not even close to being a likeable character. Although I liked him by the end I never did fall in love with him. He thoughts/regrets just didn't show enough remorse for his previous actions. His explanations just didn't justify all he'd done. The upside was that Bristol clearly made him a better man and he knew it. I enjoyed it but didn't love it. Derek and Hayden are still my favorites.
