I have really loved this series over the years and have waited sometimes impatiently for it to resume. Maggie Thorsen is a unique character whose snarkiness hides a good heart. It was good to reconnect with Maggie again in this book. I enjoyed the mystery and the continuation of the relationship with Sarah and Pavlik. So why didn't I give the book a rating of five stars? The book was soooo slow getting started! I realize that the author had to set the stage for the mystery; however, I was about 1/3 of the way through the book before I felt the mystery finally began to take off. I do hope Balzo will continue with this series, as I am highly invested in the characters and I would love to see Maggie and Pavlik have a happily ever after!
If you like this series, you are going to love this book. The characters have really matured and Balzo's writing has really matured. Fun read different twists
I always enjoy the Maggy Thorsen mystery series. They make for good, curling up on a cold day and reading for hours books. Great characters and enjoyable reads. I’m looking forward to the next one.
Realistic characters, situations and settings. Fun reading for those who still read more than labels and texts. I always read the 'Frank' passages aloud to my dogs!
