I am writing this biography in the hope that it will help others going through tough times. I went through some very challenging experiences growing up in India, from a very poor background. Others saw the good in me, and gave me the opportunity to excel in whatever I did. That is one of the reasons I refer to "the ray of sunshine" as the part of me that can see the good in all people. Take one day at a time, and remember, tough times never last, but tough people do. My late wife wanted this book during her journey with radiation and chemotherapy written by Dr. Robert Schuller. The title of the book said it all. I hope the title of this book will give you hope and encouragement.

This was a great book which took me back to my own time growing up in Western Sydney and the hardships as an immigrant family. The time Mr. Cooke spent at DGH was well described and seemed like such a wonderful childhood, even in such an unusual family situation. I enjoyed reading about his time in the military, he was quite the entrepreneur! Well done on a great book, a legacy that will continue on for generations to come

Raymond has lived a full life - and has faced adversities right from his childhood to his life as an immigrant or just facing life on a daily basis. His journey will bring tears to your eyes and yet you will root for him as the once lonely boy finds his family or achieves a standing in life. It is an inspirational story. Written lucidly and engagingly it grips your attention as you travel through the various eras. If you like inspirational stories that n you must read this. This is not an autobiography of a celebrity… it is the extraordinary journey of an ordinary man… and that’s what makes it so brilliant!!
