Product Description

Darkness shrouds Noah James’ past. Drugs, alcohol, abuse—they cloud the few memories he has and threaten to eat away at his future. The only brightness in his life is Caitlyn Hale. She came crashing into his world the day he met with her father, the sports agent who could possibly give him a new start. That day, he left the agent's office with a professional fighting career ahead of him and the image of a hazel-eyed beauty imprinted in his soul.

Rarely does life offer a glimpse of happiness without snatching it away. Just like he's always feared, the monster that haunts him comes roaring back. His entire life shatters, threatening to return him to the darkness he came from. The light-heavyweight champion is about to face the fight of a lifetime. He can only hope to make it through each round without losing the few things he has left.

I want to start by thanking Hot Tree Promotions and Rose Sawyer for giving me the chance to read this in exchange for an honest review.

Any who /really/ knows me and my love of books knows I have a weakness for MMA novels. I can’t say no to them. This was no exception. I will admit, reading it in third person threw me a little but once I got into the story, the characters drew me in.

If I Seem Dangerous is a story about Noah, a professional MMA fighter who gets suspended after supposedly failing a drug test, twice, despite swearing he is clean. With the help of his calming force Caitlyn, they bring the ones responsible for trying to ruin his career down.

5.0 out of 5 stars For the win! 23 July 2016

I don't typically read romance novels but there was enough of a hint of MMA and a storyline to intrigue me. I'm so glad I did! Rose Sawyer creates characters who are flawed and believable. Noah is beautifully and imperfectly, perfect. The book is completed with a wonderful ending; I can only hope Rose is thinking of doing a prequel with some of Noah's backstory or perhaps a spinoff with Ben. Great debut, Ms. Sawyer!!!

4.0 out of 5 stars Beautiful and Heartwarming 25 October 2015

I really enjoyed this new release by Rose Sawyer!

Noah is automatically likable and without even knowing him or anything about him, I found myself in his corner! Noah's past is dark. But right at this very second in the opening of the book, his light is shining bright and at the end of that is the future he is looking to have with Caitlyn.
When Noah is falsely accused of failing his drug test before his prize fight, the dark starts to set in for him again.
Even though Noah has had a past that included drugs he has been clean for a very long time.
He no longer believes in happiness and it seems as though every time things start to take a turn for the better, it get's snatched away from him.
He knows he's being set up and he sets out to prove it.

Noah is damaged, but Caitlyn see's the good in him, she is also as in love with him as he is her. Caitlyn has been hurt in the past and she has low self esteem due to that hurt but Noah makes her see that she is beautiful and worthy love.

As the story continues Noah and Caitlyn build each other up and prove that no matter what life throws at them they can work it out as long as they do it together.

This book was a wonderful and refreshing read. The epilogue for this book made me smile and had me grabbing the tissues! It was a beautiful HEA!

4.0 out of 5 stars 4 Stars !! 21 October 2015

This is my first Rose Sawyer book and I enjoyed it quite a bit. What drew me to this book and author was the cover of the book and the blurb. I can't help but be sucked into a book that is about a MMA fighter.

I thought this book was well written and I will for sure read other books by this author. Her writing style was good and one I could sink myself into. I found the characters and storyline interesting enough to hold my attention all the way through. The only thing I would've liked better, would've been getting more of their past story in real time. What I mean by that is that we learn about Noah and Caitlyn's background through snippets and flashbacks. I kind would've liked having that told in real time and then if need be have a 2 year time jump. I felt by writing this way we were missing some key facts of their friendship. With that said I still liked this book and I think that everyone should meet Noah James. He is definitely drool worthy ;)

What I really enjoyed about this book was that it was different then the other MMA books out there. I can't explain what I mean, except that it just felt unique to me. Now don't get me wrong we had the normal aspects of a good MMA story, but the author added some elements of mystery and suspense to this story making it it's own.

In this book we meet Caitlyn and Noah. Noah is a broken soul, who gets sucked into the darkness of his past and the only release he has from it is when he is fighting in the ring. That is until he meets Caitlyn. I will say we do learn a lot more about Noah's past then we did about Caitlyn's. Caitlyn's past is touched on, but I thought there could've been more about it in the book. I will warn you that this book is pretty much an insta-love scenario. Yes the characters have been friends for over 2 years but since we don't get that build up, it felt a little rushed to be exchanging I Love You's by 10% into the story. So if you aren't a fan of that, you might want to steer clear of this book. I personally still enjoyed the story and thought it was well worth the read!!

If you are looking for a good MMA fighter love story then I think you should give this book a try. It is a stand alone and a complete story. Although I am hoping that maybe Ben would get his own book in the future ;)

5.0 out of 5 stars Fighting with everything you have was never more romantic! 2 November 2015
By The Book Fairy Reviews - Published on
Format: Kindle Edition
Noah has been fighting for his whole life. Fighting for the love of a person that should have loved him and fighting to protect the one that did. He has failed to survive both fights and lives with the darkness that tries to consume him. His light at the end of the tunnel? Caitlyn Hale, that daughter of the one man that believed in him and the one woman that held his heart.
Losing everything and having to fight for it without caving into his demons is hard but with the people that care for him at his side he sees the love and light that he has been craving.
OMG this story is simply put amazing. A UFC fighter and his love fighting against all odds to make life what they dreamed it should be. Romantic and hard as all hell nothing in life is easy specially the things we want the most. This romance is a testament to that.
The characters are flawed which makes them more believable and relate-able. But what I loved the most, is not that he had to lean on some on to solve his problems no. He had to fight harder but he wasn't alone in the fight and he learned to accept it, that was what I loved the most about this amazing story. That and of course that Noah James is Hawt!!!
I loved every minute and the eye strain from no sleep was totally worth it in the end!!!
