After reading the only review here I almost did not buy this book. But being that I love remote, cold, romantic suspense reads, I had to get it and judge for myself. And I'm glad I did. While the stories are short, attempting to cram as much character development and storyline as possible, it was a nice escape. That the storylines are intertwined helped, as when I got to the subsequent story, I was already somewhat familiar with some characters and underlying story. I'm not sure what the other reviewer was complaining about: how the first story just ended with "2 dead bodies and 2 people walking away." What more would you need? Most romantic suspense stories end there anyway. It's not like the story did not get wrapped up.
This was good for a quick escape. While it is the length of a regular book, having 3 shorter stories made it seem like a faster read. If you don't have time for in depth character development, and want to get in a good story, take this for a spin. You can break between stories and it is like reading 3 books in the end. The timeline for these stories takes place over a few days, so lengthy prose isn't required.
While I would have preferred reading this book while socked in during a snowstorm myself, this winter isn't going to accommodate my desires. This book helped fill that void...at least for a few hours.
