I binge-read this book. I didn’t intend to, but once I started I had to keep going. I have read so many posts, books, etc, that have ‘the magic formula’ for social-media success. Adam does not promise this, despite his clear success as a LinkedIn influencer. He makes it perfectly clear that LinkedIn is a long-term game. There is stuff in this book about LinkedIn that I had never heard of, even though I have been using the platform for some years. That, plus the nine accelerators that Adam describes, make this the most valuable social-media book I have encountered. I especially appreciated the ‘content mix’ strategy. I have been a follower of Adam for five years now. Social media in general, and LinkedIn in particular, have changed a lot over that time, but there are still gurus out there peddling the same old stuff. Stick with Adam’s advice and you know you will be at the front of the pack in the latest trends.

Adam delivers once again with Influencer. This nine-step guide will help anyone become a LinkedIn expert, create influence and trust, and build relationships with potential clients. The steps are clearly articulated, easy to follow, and filled with nuggets of truth. Once pointed out, some of the content made me slap my forehead with how obvious they were yet I have never implemented them well. Thank you, Adam; this book will be the bible for LinkedIn that I will go back to read again and again.

Knowing my profile (not to mention activity on the platform) needs an overhaul, I've literally held off doing anything much with it until this book was finally released a few weeks ago. Can't wait to see where it takes our business once Adam's highly practical imparted knowledge is fully implemented.
This could actually be a course at $5000-10,000 or more, way too much value for sub $30 book :)
Do yourself a favour - buy this book and follow every bit of advice in it you can. It would still be almost too cheap at $100.

Adam gave more details to the known phrase of working with people who you know, like and trust as key drivers of influencing.
What I like especially in his new book is the combination of story telling towards achieving an influencer profile with a lot of planning tools and ways to combine online with offline.
LinkedIn as other tools might be easy to learn and adopt for a moment, but developing it further to the state of an influencer and keeping there is the real challenge. Glad to learn from a master like Adam Houlahan.
This is not a book about influencer marketing. It’s a book about how to become a recognized leader in your field by the people in your industry… starting with clarity: Clarity about your goals, your brand attributes, and your niche.
Influencer provides a comprehensive yet practical framework for promoting your brand on Linkedin and being recognized as an influencer in your industry. The framework consists of the three pillars of sales (Know, Like and Trust) and nine accelerators to move you forward systematically in building your influence on Linkedin. I love the “Clarity Messages” after each chapter – illustrating how Adam’s clients have overcome obstacles and benefited from following his Influencer training.
The chapter on Engagement alone is worth the price of the book. He points out rightly that engagement means actually interacting with potential followers by responding to them when they comment on your work of messaging. It’s the difference between being a “post and forget” content pusher and building relationships through interaction.
Bottom line: There are a ton of books out there on Linkedin. This one delivers!
