The plot of the story is one full of mystery and suspense. It looks like any other tragic car accident, but just as inspector Susan Adler is about to close the case, information comes to hand from the medical examiner that this was no accident. Susan now has a murder to solve!
When Randall Brock is informed of his wife Amanda’s tragic passing, his world comes crashing down. A psychiatrist who treats patients with violent fantasies, it isn’t long before Randell comes under suspicion and is Susan’s prime suspect.
In regards to the characters, Matthew has created a mixed bag that are both extremely well written and memorable. The standout for me was Randall. What a complex and fascinating character he is and one that has you feeling mixed emotions about. He keeps you guessing throughout as to whether he is the good guy or the bad guy. I also really liked Inspector Susan Adler and think she is a strong character that would make for a great series.
I really enjoyed Matthews writing style and how it makes the story go at break neck speed. I was torn on wanting to savour the book as I was enjoying it so much to wanting to see what was going to happen. Matthew excels in teasing the reader throughout wanting more till the explosive finale which does not disappoint!
Apart from the story itself, one of the main things that also attracts me to a book, is it’s cover. Whoever the designer for this one is, they have nailed it. It sets up the tone of the book perfectly.
All up this is an addictive and enjoyable read, which I highly recommend and one that I would definitely read again.
Thank-you to NetGalley, Thomas & Mercer and Matthew Farrell for allowing me to read an advanced copy of I Know Everything which I have review honestly and voluntarily.
Susan, a single mother with two young children, struggles to reconcile life as a parent and everything police work entails. The pressure is on to solve the case before the killer claims his/her next victim.
Everyone has secrets but how many of are killers and/or justified in doing so?
The author has a great way with words eg location 140….that kind of dark makes the shadows seem even thicker……..the places with light seem safe………..its fake and you cant trust fake…it’s a trap. Simple enough words with the power to invoke images in my head. I could feel the mist swirling round my feet, felt safe in the light and then grabbed violently.
The opening pages had a dramatic effect and it took only a few lines to reel me in. This book has a very interesting twist/s and I thoroughly enjoyed being lured in the wrong direction.
If you love crime/mystery/psychological thrillers then you must put this on your list. A great book by an author to look out for!
Thank you to Netgalley and the publisher for a digital copy of the book in return for an honest review.

This book does not disappoint, I thoroughly enjoyed the plots and twists. I will not give anything away here.
It is so nice to actually buy a book that you cannot wait to sit down and read, and one of those where you are looking at the clock thinking 'Could I have a few minutes to read just a little more, to see what happens?'
No spoilers here , book finished superb and I highly recommend this author.
Pleased to say I had bought his third book in advance and I cannot wait to finish that one either.
Want a good read...here it is.
This would make a great tv film.
If you want cheap and nasty this is as good as any of the very many around
