Vice Chancellor Niobe has gone been through the process of finding her mate but when her match comes up she is sent to find him but what she found isn’t what was expected...Evarian Hunter Quinn is captured and tortured by the Hive and to his suprise his match mate saves him and that is the start...but with Grace’s books nothing is what you expect.
Quinn is an Elite Hunter, and has been captured by the Hive. He is certain that he is to die there. He entered the Brides program a long time ago, and had never been matched. When a beautiful woman appears where he is being held, announces herself as his mate and helps to rescue him, he is unsure of anything - except that he wants her. But will they each be able to work through their personal quirks to come together? Or will her stubbornness, and his dominance and wish to protect her keep them apart? Loving this series!

Quinn, one of only a few survivors of the Hive, is surprised by the arrival of an high ranking officer, claiming to be his mate. Quickly disposing of a number of Hive soldiers and then securing the base. Freeing those prisoners delivered for integration before transferring them all to the nearest battlegroup, that being the Karter.
After confirming their relationship, and finding a Hive hidden base where no such base should be. Those too damaged are transferred to the Colony for medical needs and to spend their lives.
1). Really dislike when author feels the need to constantly point out how strong the women are. The hero and heroine actions and words should set their character. It feels like the author is saying “look at me. I can write strong dominate women characters “
2). Dislike both characters disliking the thought they would ever have children. It was presented in a very negative way. Also dislike the message that strong competitive women cannot be successful and have children. For me it cheapens their entire love affair. I know this will not play out the same for a lot of women. That is why I say it is a personal preference
3). The last 6-7 books by ms Goodwin seem like they are purposely set up to balance the first dozen or so with the dominate male vs the dominate female. I absolutely hate it when an author does this. I really will be very careful in the future to wait for a lot more reviews then 100 before I purchase her new books.
4). Too much whining and angst about the relationship
One of the best scenes was in the canteen when Commander Karter threatened to shoot Quinn (just stun him) unless he started talking about his feelings! LOL. How the earth females have changed these war hardened warriors. With every review I write for this series, I remain with the same thought...READ THIS..I read 1 or 2 randomly and then sucked it up and bought them all in 1 day and started reading in order!
I was glad about the rescue but boy did these two have a great deal to work through. Being a Hunter makes things really tough. And Niobe’s position is high up there. THAT was really tough for Quinn to understand and find his place with her. With the Hunter mentality of chasing, these two were having to find that middle ground. There were parts that you just wanted to smack the back of Quinn’s head. Then you end up chuckling over the conversation with all the other warriors and commanders. These two were so hot for each other. I look forward to reading about Commander Zeus and Atlan Zan.
