LeeAnn is a CPA. Her life revolves around the certainty and reliability of numbers. Her business partner, on the other hand, is more flexible when it comes to numbers, and the law. She’s on her way to Miami to meet him. She likes the heat of the city, but it is soon to become even hotter.
Kane is a Hunter. But, his mission this time is to protect LeeAnn who is on someone’s hit list. What he hadn’t planned on was falling in love with her.
The Hunter by Jackie Ivie is part action, part humor (which I think is partly unintended, but nonetheless funny). It follows Kane and LeeAnn as they flee a hitman who has an abundance of resources at his command. Their escape, however, is greatly complicated by the growing physical and emotional attachment that is growing between them.
The story, in my humble opinion, ends a little abruptly, but I enjoyed reading it.

Jackie Ivie's THE HUNTED is a fast paced first book in her new series Chronicles of the Hunter. Bits and pieces of the total picture are fed to us through each page and each interaction with LeeAnn and Kane. Starting with LeeAnn and a pre-dawn meeting with her business partner, Chad. Zane arrives at LeeAnn's room just before the meeting and drags her away telling her very little as he kidnaps her running from one place to the next. Small hints of the paranormal make one feel as if one is haunted by an evil entity. The sexual tension is there, trying to stick the mission, Zane denies what he wants and tries to keep on point giving LeeAnn only cryptic answers. As the first book in a new series, it has me hooked.

Great introduction to the series. Cliffhanger, one may wish to read the series in a bundle.

Thoroughly enjoyable romance with danger, love and snark. Believable characters with distinct personalities and great dialogue.

I would enjoy reading the complete series and look forward to other works by this author.

Jackie has done it again!!! This book blew me out of the water. I thought the plot would be normal or as normal as can be for Jackie......oh no she waits till you are almost at the end and drops the bomb! It has been awhile since I've been surprised by a book, this one did. I can't wait to read the next one.
