4.0 out of 5 stars A great book but surprised by the LARGE PRINT!!!!
Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 16 December 2018
This is an excellent book. Buy it.

BUT... If you find yourself looking at the edition that says "Read how you want 16" on the front cover, then please understand (sadly I didn't...) that you are buying a book which is designed for people with extremely poor eyesight! It is printed in an insultingly large font if you're just a "normal" academic, used to reading thousands of words in font size 11 or less... When it arrived, I admit I judged it harshly based on the font alone, and considered giving it straight to the charity shop, I found the font so hard to read because I couldn't take it seriously! It does look like a book for someone with special needs. (It IS, in fact... a book for someone with additional visual needs.)
I've just been back to the site on amazon and can see no other option - this is the only edition I could find. I wasn't given the chance to tailor the font size at any point in the buying process and it wasn't made properly clear quite how shockingly BIG the font is, although I'll admit it did say "large print" in the title, I assumed that as it was the only edition available, it would be normal. It's not.

Ok, font-size rant over. This book is gold dust. Full of humorous, heartbreaking, laugh-out loud, and close to the bone wisdom, which I suspect applies world-wide. Certainly all rings true here in the UK. Definitely worth buying if you're doing a PhD or supervising one. And once you get used to it, font size 16 is actually a real relief to these old academic eyes, lol. Enjoy!
