Product description

Product Description

New York Times and USA Today Bestselling Author Jay Crownover returns with her most complicated hero yet, in the first book in the romantic suspense series The Breaking Point.

Don’t be fooled.

Don’t make excuses for me.

I am not a good man.

I’ve seen things no one should, done things no one should talk about. Honor and conscience have no place in my life. But I’ve fought and I’ve survived. I’ve had to.

The first time I saw her dancing on that seedy stage in that second rate club, I felt my heart pulse for the first time. Keelyn Foster was too young, too vibrant for this place, and I knew in an instant that I would make her mine. But first I had to climb my way to the top. I had to have something more to offer her.

I’m here now, money is no object and I have no equal. Except for her. She's disappeared. But don’t worry, I will find her and claim her. She will be mine.

Like I said, don’t be fooled. I am not the devil in disguise... I’m the one standing front and center.

Wow! I have no words...................What a rollercoaster ride of a story if ever there was one. If you've read Jay Crownover's Point series you will know that Nassir is a bad man, with a LOT of enemies. Truth be told, I was never a fan of Nassir in previous Point books, he was ruthless, mean, and basically had no redeeming qualities. But, got to say, by the time I'd read the prologue I was starting to think differently, and a few chapters in and I'd done a complete about turn, I was 110% into Nassir. I couldn't think of a better girl for Nassir than Keelyn, she came across as so fragile, how wrong were my first instincts, she is one of the strongest female characters I think I've come across in a long time, she doesn't take any sh*t from Nassir or any of his comrades. The chemistry between them is off the charts, the storyline kept me on my toes (suspense, romance, drama) and the writing is, as I have come to expect from Jay Crownover, just perfect. Thoroughly enjoyed this book (even through tears at one point), which is a must read for all Jay Crownover fans, Five stars is not enough.

I was really looking forward to this book, and it was worth the wait. Keelyn is a strong woman who stood up to Nassir - earning her his love and respect. Was great to see this relationship develop.

5.0 out of 5 stars Nassir and Key are The Point -- and they make no apologies 19 October 2016
By Rachel M - Published on Amazon.com

There is something about the grit and crime of the Point that makes romance shine. Neither Keelyn nor Nassir have pretty backstories, but they have made a name for themselves in the Point and it is their home.

I loved these two hard. They had hard lives, made dark choices and lived with the consequences. Nassir wasn’t from the Point, and compared to his childhood, life in the Point was easy. Nothing was ever easy for Keelyn, but she knew where her strengths lie and how to use them to her advantage in the Point.

Keelyn stripped because she like wielding power. Sex was what she knew. Fear of what she saw in Nassir’s eyes sent her running to Denver, but the Point is as much a part of her as she is a part of the city, so couldn’t stay in the straight-laced, no nonsense life she was trying to form.

Nassir stepped in to run the darkside of the Point after Novak’s demise. He commanded the power and fear needed, but as he rebuilt his club and designed a new one, he wanted Key back at his side. And Nassir is not a man to sit back and wait for the things he wants; he is willing to go to despicable lengths to convince her to return.

This is not a pretty romance. Nassir’s background gives him a skewed sense of right and wrong, and some of the things he does to get her back would have crossed the line for any other character. The dependence on the underbelly of the Point means that both of them are comfortable stretching the legality of their actions, doing what needs to be done for their end purpose.

I love Key’s confidence and ability to wield her sexuality. As she finds her place within Nassir’s new club, I love both what his ideas for her say about the way he views her and the way she sees herself.

I could not put this book down. Literally. What was supposed to be an hour of reading with a cup of Saturday morning coffee morphed into a morning long reading marathon. Once again, the Point sucked me in with its grit, crime, and desperation. Key and Nassir embody the very themes the Point stands for. They are unapologetic in their roles and are proud of their reputations.

5.0 out of 5 stars "The only thing that would keep me from you now is the end." Here's to Keelyn and Nassir! 20 October 2016

Nassir lifted right off the pages and brought life to The Point. Make no mistake, he will rule you and he will rule his empire. Don't mess with someone that is born from the darkness.
"I wasn't just part of a war....I was the war."
If you know Jay's writing and Jay's books, you know that she knows how to write a bad boy. Because even the bad boys can't be all that bad. But the men of The Point are in a whole other realm. The city that made them is the evil and they are a product of their surroundings. They want to make their home in the Point that much better, but they go about it in a much darker way.
"Beautiful things grow in the sludge, my friend."
With Nassir and Keelyn's story, it is the topping on everything that I wanted it to be. It was full of life, death, love, hope, and creating something light from the dark. But in the most roundabout way. It's not a pretty story, but it's a story that was years in the making. It is a story of people creating something new in oneself while still holding on to your survival instincts. It's a story of a king and queen that offer their city a choice. But most of all, it's a story of two people that owned one another from the very beginning. It's their story and it's time for Nassir and Keelyn to own it!
While I felt this story was more low on the drama and of evil outside forces (because let's face it, Nassir is the evil here, but then again, so is a piece of Key), it concentrated more on a relationship and how they were going to let it proceed. Was the bad going to take them down or would they control it and make it better? I liked that aspect of it. We knew the players and now we just needed them to play nice and become real for the sake of their city.
The story was well put together and the writing was outstanding. I would definitely recommend this book, but I would start with the Welcome to the Point series. Is it necessary to read those? Not exactly, as each story is about a different couple, but I like the history and the feel of The Point and I feel like you need to know at least a little bit about the other players in it. And only then do you really understand Nassir Gates. Because he is darkness personified in those books. Take a ride to The Point and don't get lost. It's a dirty world out there. :) 4.5 stars!
4.0 out of 5 stars Great read! 24 October 2016

I was so happy to find out that we were getting Nassir's story that when it finally reached my hands, it seemed everything was trying to distract me from reading it. Well, I've finally finished and I can proudly say, I LOVED it! The story was edgy, intense, steamy, suspenseful, and romantic (all of my fave things)!

I've always loved Nassir's protectiveness, ruthlessness, and his kindness (helping the women with jobs etc). I devoured his background story and hated how he had to live growing up. Yet I was impressed that he managed to move away and start over all on his own. I also enjoyed watching him grow into being a smidgen bit kinder, become a "real boy". He was a great, imperfect, anti-hero!

Key was a good match for him. I didn't necessarily like her character throughout the whole story, but halfway through I did begin to like her much more. When she started to realize her feelings and stopped fighting them, being Nassir's equal in every way, that's when I truly knew she was perfect for him. She was strong, protective, fierce, loyal, and could stand on her own, but chose to stand at his side instead.
5.0 out of 5 stars Nassir and Keelyn 25 October 2016

This book took my breath away and had me hooked from the very beginning....Nassir Gates had me wanting to wrap him up in a hug and never letting him go!
Born and raised in a place where hate is bred from birth, Nassir Gates eventually executed an exit from that place and eventually finds himself in the Point. He slowly climbs his way to the top.

Keelyn Foster is a survivor. After being shot at Spanky's, she takes off and ends up in Denver working as a waitress in a diner, where Nassir tracks her down to offer her a business opportunity. Keelyn promptly shows him the door but Keelyn makes her way back to the Point.

Keelyn is a perfect heroine to our hero Nassir. She shows him that he can be strong and still give her everything. The perfect king and queen for an imperfect place.

Jay Crownover has again outdone herself with Honor. This story is riveting. Prepare yourself for a book hangover because you will not be able to stop reading until you finish

Key promptly shows him the door, determined to make Denver work for herself. However, after an incident with a homeless man and a discussion with Reeve, Key makes her way back to the Point.

Jay Crownover has outdone herself with Honor. This story is riveting. Prepare yourself for a book hangover because you will not be able to stop reading until you finish. Five resounding stars! I didn't think anyone could replace Shane Baxter as my top Crownover guy, but Nassir Gates has firmly established himself as my number one Jay BBF.
