The volume of sound to my ear is my only complaint. If the person speaking whether live or on a podcast projects their voice I have no problems hearing. But if the person speaking is a low talker or they cannot project their voice well it can be hard to hear what is being said. For phone calls it has never been a problem. My Bible app is pretty quiet. Podcast addict and Pandora work perfectly fine. I do wish that Honeywell would make the volume amplification louder so that I could choose to damage my eardrums if I want too. (I would sign a waiver if I had to).
An upgrade to this system (that I have not seen advertised and have no reason to believe that it will be implemented) would be to add Active Noise Cancelling. I would pay another 30 bucks on top of the current features, for this feature if it were available.
Would definitely buy again and have highly recommended them to anyone that has asked me about them.
Pros: Quality build, comfortable, good padding on headband, sound quality in earphones not bad for type, high level sound isolation/blocking good but not class leading vs dedicated earmuffs from 3M etc, voice isolation in call good in noisy environment (but voice quality poor, especially in a non noisy environment, see below)
Cons: Bluetooth receiver very weak, needs a strong bluetooth signal from phone, signal easily blocked from short distance (eg in jeans pocket), this is a big issue for the main purpose if the product (I should note that some phones are better than others for Bluetooth strength - my Nexus is poor so shows the problem more seriously than others but compared to other Bluetooth products the receiver is definitely weak on these headphones), in call voice quality very poor if high level external noise source removed ie if call received and noisy machine switched off (this is probably due to aggressive noise cancelling required to cancel in high noise environment?)
