3.0 out of 5 stars Funny thing is, I didn't like the first 2/3 of the book, but I liked the last third. 27 April 2017

The beginning of this book had me almost giving up immediately. I mean, come on--who would cheat on his brand new wife during the wedding reception? Who would not only do so, but also neglect to lock the bathroom door while doing it? And then after he was caught the first time, who would do it again while waiting for the bride to come back to the reception? As much as I love to suspend belief during my Fantasy reads, that was a bit much for me.

(slight spoilers follow)

I managed to get past that ridiculous scene and into the Vampire part. Unfortunately, there was insufficient World Building with regard to these "Golden" and quite moralistic Vampires. First it's against the rules to "turn" a human, but the Hero did it with no problems. Then, it's impossible for an "unfated" relationship to produce an offspring, but it apparently happened to said Hero. And then after turning the Heroine, he just leaves her alone because of the "rules". She has to learn by herself that she's a vampire. This results in her killing a couple of guys by accident, which apparently doesn't bother her too much. These straightlaced Vampires don't seem to have any rules about unnecessarily killing humans, either. And when he is finally able to contact her (because of the "rules"), they can't actually have true intercourse because her husband hasn't formally and verbally released her. Even though she never signed the marriage license, so their marriage isn't legal. And through it all, the Hero's crazy spurned ex-girlfriend can go all violent and murderous on everyone without seemingly breaking any rules. By now, as you can imagine, I was wondering why I was even continuing to read this book.

(end spoilers)

This was an adult read, and the sex scenes weren't bad. The last third of the book got more interesting, as well as a little suspenseful. The HEA ending was romantic. But the World Building should have been better. The Vampire Society was too inconsistent. The Hero wasn't heroic until the very end. It needs further editing and proofreading. But the last third of the book did bring it up to an "OK" read for me.

4.0 out of 5 stars Honeymoon Bite 25 October 2012

An excellent paranormal romance that was exciting, romantic, entertaining and very satisfying to read. It had me anticipating what would happen next many times over, so much so I could not put it down and even finished it up in a day. The vampires in this book were different from your average vampire, but I enjoy different variations and changes to the same old stuff. It made for a more unpredictable read and more adventurous to explore! Vampire lovers, any paranormal readers and even those who love the romance genre will enjoy Honeymoon Bite.

Anne is a sweet, trusting and beautiful woman that just desires what many other women do. A happy marriage, family and a loving and loyal husband, alas, it's not to be this way for poor Anne. The evening of her wedding she finds her husband in an intimate situation with her best friend. Tired of him and his infidelity, she takes the planned honeymoon trip by herself and lands in another situation that no one would ever ask for only to be saved by a man that now haunts her thoughts day and night ever since. Now alive more than ever, she chooses to actually live. She's stronger, more determined and practically invincible. But her journey for happiness is a long way from her grasp. She has many new cravings and rules that stop her from taking exactly what she wants. Especially when what she wants is from her dream man.

Marcus is a centuries old vampire that has a true warm heart, a romantic soul and a yearning for his fated. When he finally finds her, he's stricken with grief that his fated, the woman he's finally found lays injured, close to dying. Determined to keep her alive he makes a quick decision to change her to be like him and hopes with all of his being that she will grow to know, love, trust and respect him as her fated. At times Marcus came off as overly obsessed with Anne, but I guess considering he's waited as long as he has, it's warranted. After all, Fate is something that's meant to be and he knows he's a very lucky male to have a chance to experience it.

Lies, deception, unfaithfulness, so many twists and turns in the journey for happiness and contentment between the two main characters. But the chemistry that flows between them is undeniable and something to be cherished, for all eternity :)

4.0 out of 5 stars My First Vampire book by Ms. Hamilton but won't be my last.... 3 March 2014

I was so thrilled when I won a contest by Sharon Hamilton and then even more so, when she offered me a chance to have a copy of Honeymoon Bite. I have been eyeing this book for a awhile, so to say that I was overjoyed would be a understatement.

The day after winning, I here to tell everyone, if you love a good Vampire romance, full of angst, drama and hot sweating sex, then Honeymoon Bite by Sharon Hamilton is the book for you!

I absolutely loved the characters and the storyline. Everything seemed to flow together so smoothly that when I started reading, it was 9am and before I knew it, BINGO it’s 4pm. Still sitting on the couch, in my PJ’s but I was done with the book.

Thank you to Ms. Hamilton for the contest and thank you for a fabulous afternoon spent losing myself in the delightful world of vampires you created. I look forward to reading the next book in the awesome series.

4.0 out of 5 stars Sexy but rushed 26 June 2013

Anne catches her new husband cheating on her, on their wedding day. With her head held high she goes on their honeymoon alone. Deciding to walk around she stumbles into a church where Marcus is currently setting up his fating. But how everything changes when he smells her. He knows she is the one. After she is attacked Marcus changes her to vampire and makes sure she knows they are fated. This is a great romance story with a little action and suspense. However I could not believe no one was upset, besides the council, over the real father. The last few chapters are condensed so you don't feel you are missing anything. But I wish it was more spaced out like the rest of the story.

5.0 out of 5 stars Twilight for grown up. 5 April 2014
By Jule Kijek - Published on Amazon.com

This was a really great book. I loved how the author built a world where Vampires live seamlessly with humans. Golden vampires are born human and remain that way until puberty. Then they have the choice to remain human or change and become a Vampire.

When Marcus meets his fated female, Anne, his life changes for ever. For a Vampire, that is a long time! The book has a lot of sexual acts in it but the actual sex between Anne and Marcus takes place at the (aprox) 73% point. Lots of action and a good plot, also. 4.5 stars on this one. Looking forward to the next book.
