Hollywood Dead is a great book. Kadrey combines the Stark's badassery with a eyeopening portrayal of his own mortality. This new perspective and Stark's situation gives a new perspective that really showcases his development.
Overall this is a great book, that I highly recommend.

Now don’t get me wrong ...

I’ve been waiting ages for this book, but it’s so different on pace & storyline compared to the others.
Okay, I have a feeling it’s the start of something big coming, not to mention that Stark seems to be ... growing up?! Maturing is a better word!
But let’s be honest, who didn’t spend the last 70% of the book thinking ... come on ... we know he will be healed !!!
Not the best in the series, but a necessary read ...

A departure

Not really what I was expecting after the epic previous book. Very un-Sandman Slim who up until now, no matter what, would tell it like it is. This time round he’s almost ordinary. Scared of just about everything and consequently makes poor judgements throughout. I usually love these books but this one makes me think it could be time to move on to pastures new.

Reading a fresh Sandman Slim book is like that first drag of a cigarette after you’ve sworn off the smokes for a year. There is all the familiar world of Stark here, along with twisty twists and a few new characters to keep it all fresh. It is a great ride. I just wish that I wouldn’t tear through each book so quickly. Have fun.

Another Banger!

10 books in and this is as good as the best of them. Kadrey continues to populate his Sub Rosa LA with new and fascinating characters and lore; this time there's reappearances from nearly all your favourite friends, enemies, celestials and factions. Stark is still like Jack Reacher meets John Constantine and I can't get enough of him. Enjoy!

Brisk and satisfying return to form

Felt like the final section of the last book, but no worse for it. Non stop action with appearances from lots of familiar characters from the series.
