First I need to warn you, this book contains extreme adult content and it is not fit for the weakest of hearts .

He is a councillor who has been counselling his young patient in probably guessing at her teen years, she turns 18 and he has naughty thoughts about this troubled child, yes I say child. He is only a few years younger then the girl mother! This is what some people consider a Paedophile.

With this said, it was raunchy with him wanting her to be his submissive. Things get heated up and quite honestly iris about as bad as your thinking here.

So readers beware not your cup of tea? Certainly was not mine. I was hopeful he would have been charged with something but not happened.

No I don't recommend this book for all, only the people who have no morals.

Prepare yourself for an unforgettable journey! I have read most of Isabella Starling work, but this one simply took my breath away.

I have been waiting for this book for a while now and was not disappointed in the slightest! I personal enjoy my romance on the dark side and His Doll filled that need very well!!

Not only do we have an older man/younger girl we also have therapist/patient but there was also a student/teacher aspect to the book as well. It ticked a lot of boxes for me!!!

I will warn you it is dark, some may find it a little hard to deal with, but as I said before it floats my boat!!

Isabella Starling is a extraordinary writer and I will be a die hard fan forever!!! Keep on writing wonderful pieces like His Doll & I'll follow you anywhere!

Fantastic

I wasn't sure of this one to start with but it ended up being great. I really enjoy the way Isabella builds her characters, they have depth, their not just one dimensional. This is the second one of Isabella's books I have read the first being His Brat and I have to say she has now made a fan out of me, can't wait for more. I would have no hesitate in highly recommended that you pick up a copy of this book today. Oh, the first one His Brat too.
This is my honest opinion, I was not paid in any way for this review.

A Taboo novel

His Doll is a Taboo novel and wasn't my thing. It is the story of Alice, a troubled 18 year old, and Jacob, her Therapist and Guardian. Although Jacob knows a relationship with Alice is not ethical he is troubled with his desire for her knowing she will seduce her and that he will not resist.

Although I struggled with the plot the story was well written and sex scenes were hot. I really do enjoy Isabella Starling's books and will continue, looking forward to the next book.

I received a copy of this book in return for an honest review.

This is a story of a spoilt 18 year old girl and her older therapist and it's a hot one! Once again Isabella has done it. Great, quick, hot and sexy read. The sex is so hot in this story you'll need a fan while reading to cool you down. Much deserved 4 stars from me.

Taboo and dark stories canbe either hit or miss but i never gave a probkem when reading isabellas work, the characters and plot are well written. Alice isva troubled 18 year old, jacob is older her therapist and guardian, although he kniws that it is ethicalkyvwrong he cannot help but be attracted to her. Dark Taboo story - well written quick read

This is a dark taboo story of a young woman older man. I don't normally like this kind of story but Isabella Starling has a knack of writing these types in a way that is entertaining and respectful that doesn't make you cringe.

Firstly, I have to say I'm not a prude! However, the number of times the characters used the 'F' word became extremely irritating. It got so bad at one stage, that I was looking out for the curses, rather than concentrating on the plot.

In addition, as another reviewer has mentioned, I thought the plot was confused in places: why was Doll (Alice) seeing Mr Hawke,in the first place? Why did she self harm? Would a mother really leave her daughter in the care of her therapist? And why did Trina, Mrs Arnold, and the other students dislike Alice so much?

Perhaps the answers to these questions were somewhere in the narrative but I didn't spot them, so they need clarification if they are there.

I've read and enjoyed other books by Ms Starling, but felt that the manuscript of this novel needed a thorough line-edit, before it was published, hence the 3 stars.

A taboo read that gets pretty hot in places. A therapist and his patient, the connection is pretty clear between the two characters. She is a young woman in desperate need of being loved and belonging, he is a therapist who desperately wants to love and be loved. Two lost souls who come together out of need for acceptance. The story was pretty good, kind of went off a bit towards the end, but overall an enjoyable read.

I'm puzzled by the 5- and 4-star ratings. I guess when you read an ARC copy of a book you're more forgiving of jumpy story lines, continuity issues and bad dialogue. I didn't find this book titillating or even sexy. It had potential, I think, but fell flat. Way flat. The contradictions between the characters was just too much.
Pass on this one.
