But Tate is a sucker for a damsel in distress and when a diary mix-up leaves Christina in his debt, Tate gets more than he bargained for.
What does a resourceful girl do when the best marketing brain in the business won’t play ball? She bluffs. She cheats. And she ups the ante. But when the stakes get too high, does anybody win?

About the author

Lily Malone might have been a painter, except her youngest son put a golf club through her canvas, so she wrote her first contemporary romance novel instead. Since then she's written seven full-length novels and a novella for Harlequin MIRA (Harper Collins Australia).
Lily's latest book with Harper Collins is a new story in her best-selling Australian rural romance series 'The Chalk Hill Series', called The Vet's Country Holiday. That's out in April 2022.
If you're already a fan of her rural romance, she also has something a bit dirtier and grittier, an Australian mystery/rural suspense story called The Waterhole. Readers of Jane Harper's THE DRY, might like this one.
Lily lives in the stunning surf and wine region known as Margaret River in Western Australia, with her handsome husband and two sons who look like their Dad.

His Brand of Beautiful is a rollicking good read from the first page. I loved the humour and unexpected turns of phrase throughout this novel, with Lily's easy-going writing style and perfect balance of humour and high emotion keeping me entertained through to the end. There is also some very clever sprinkling of background that builds interest and empathy for the two main characters: Christina Clay - seeking marketing guru (among other things!)-- and Tate Newell - said marketing guru!
I love good fiction, but it's always a bonus to find a story that blends fiction with fact so I learn something new; such is Lily's approach to everything from wine making, to marketing, to horsemanship, and even shooting a .22 rifle. It takes special skill to deliver the right amount of detail and description without preaching or teaching.
Readers of romance (who don't mind things getting a teensy bit hot) will find this a treat for the senses. There is something special about the authenticity Lily brings to the page that makes me think we'll soon see her books hitting the popular fiction shelves in the chick-lit genre.
