It's the standard tale of a kidnapped daughter who marries her kidnapper for family ties and love. However, it was well written, the leads are likeable and there are a range of villains to make life difficult. I thought though to give that troublesome servant a happy ending and all forgiven was stupid; she did some pretty nasty and dangerous things including treason and deserved a fitting punishment.
This was my first tale from Mary Wine. It was filled with suspense treachery from all sides & a love that won out in the end. I truly liked Buchanan & Rhedyn & their HEA.
Just the right amount of action, plot twists, villains and passion. Likeable lead characters and good paths into the next book. Really enjoyed this book.
This is exactly the kind of books I'm used to Mary Wine writing. It's the reason I initially fell in love with her heros and heroine. This is by far one of her greatest books and worth reading! Bonus is you get it at a discounted price so even better but every penny is so worth owning this masterpiece. I can't wait for her other books in this series! I hope they will be released soon : )
I enjoy this author's writing style and this didn't disappoint. The action of the H is questionable and I thought at times he came across weak. He let other's opinions take root within the clan instead of taking action against those who caused dissension.
He did grow a pair as the story went along and my opinion of him raised and so did my rating. The h was strong and did her clan proud. I loved the H's sister and hope she gets a story with the h's brother.
There is action, many villains who most get there just due, except one women I didn't care she was not punished over her many attempts of getting someone hurt. We get suspense, twists, romance builds slowly, HEA, no cheating and no cliffhanger. Loved the ending because it had some surprises!
We have lovemaking, within marriage, heat level 4 out of 5. Because I did feel a connection to the couple at this point, it was filled with love and passion. (ljb)
This is a new author for me and I look forward to reading more of her books! This is about Rhedyn Lindsey and Laird Buchanan Mackenzies. There is a place called the Sow’s Troth where the different clans could go to drink ale and spend time with a courtesans. The trouble started when Iain Mackenzies had a different idea of what the place was. Iain decided that he was going to go raiding and he decided to raid on the Munro lands. Rolfe Munro saw what was going on, he made them pay the price for their raid. The Mackenzies thought that Colum Lindsey killed the Mackenzies so they came and took Rhedyn Lindsey as a hostage. Through out the days that Rhedyn Lindsey was in the Mackenzies home Buchanan knew that some of his clan wanted to harm her. He knew that he had to keep her safe. This story needs to be read to find out what happens!!
Life was harsh in the highlands were clans sometimes battled each other. It could be brutal and on one such night when the half brother of Buchanan Mackenzie was killed, he knew he had to seek vengeance to appease his clan. That came in taking the daughter of his enemy, Rheyn Lindsey to stike a blow to her father. But he did not want to take a woman but she asked he not kill her father. What Buchanan does not expect is her to stand up to him and he tries to make the right decision in what to do with her. Will he see that she is more than just the daughter of an enemy but is a woman? I truly enjoyed this story that took me on a journey of two people who unexpectedly found they may have more in common than expected. Cannot wait to read more in this series! Love these highlanders!
