This author has a wonderful way of writing time travel novels that make you feel you are travelling alongside the characters. It amazes me how she comes up with the various ways to go back in time! This story has strong, independent characters, an unexpected traitor, secrets, fantastic descriptions of the Highland countryside and a rocky romance. Craig and his family have suffered trauma which no clan should, but have come through stronger than before. Amy lost something a long time ago, and needs to learn who she is again. This book is one you won’t want to miss. I couldn’t put it down. I received an ARC copy of this book and am voluntarily leaving an honest review.
I had tears in my eyes and a lump in my throat during parts of this heartwarming book. Two damaged people who only love someone from a different time. An accidental journey thru time from 2020 back to the 14th century permanently changes you, and your future. Especially when you meet your soulmate there. Times are hard back then but no harder than now, but in a different way. I'm dieing to know what happened in their future :) I received a free copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review.
I thoroughly enjoyed this novel. It is a story of time travel and finding that one true love that is meant for only you. At the same time, it is a lesson in forgiveness, and is shown in two main examples: Amy and Craig, the main lesson in 1307 Scotland, but also Amy and her father, in the present day. This brings a sense of completion twice near the end of the book and the whole story brought me a huge feeling of satisfaction.
A great novel and I can’t wait to read the next in the series – Highlander’s Hope.
