Product Description

Emily would do anything to stay out of the spotlight, but sometimes love makes other plans. Can she handle another celebrity romance?

After her very public romance with superstar singer Cory Sampson nearly cost Emily Watts her career, she's determined to never make tabloid headlines again. So when her new yoga classmate, Raine Kingston, wants to see Emily outside of class, she isn't sure what to do. Raine is funny, madly attractive, and he's one of the most charming men Emily has ever met. He's also a sought-after actor who tops Hollywood's A-list, and Emily knows being seen with him will destroy the privacy she's worked so hard to get back.

She can't deny their connection, though, and Raine is willing to spend time together in places they won't be seen. Just when Emily is on top of the world with her new romance, her past finds its way back into the tabloids, thanks to a music partnership between Cory and indie band guitarist Jesse Cinder, someone Emily counts among her enemies. With all eyes back on her, it gets harder to keep her dates with Raine a secret, and Emily is forced to choose: stay with Raine, who makes her the happiest she's ever been, and have her life back in the headlines, or give up the best relationship she's ever had to keep the privacy and normal life she craves.

The latest beach read tale of love and fame in Hollywood from Jennifer Farwell, for chick lit and celebrity romance readers who enjoy books by Lauren Weisberger, Sophie Kinsella, Lauren Conrad, and Helen Fielding. Featured by Cosmopolitan (a Wattpad on Cosmo pick)! Hiding Out in Hollywood is best read as the first book in the A Hollywood Dating Story series, and Rock Star's Girl is best read as its prequel.

5.0 out of 5 stars Not your average chick lit! 18 July 2016

The very likeable and down-to-earth Emily Watts is a great example of a strong female lead in a very respectable beach read. I love this book, just like I've loved all of Jennifer Farwell's books. Farwell writes fun chick lit, but it sure isn't fluff. Emily is not your typical Hollywood blonde. She doesn't care about celebrities, she'd rather avoid them if she can. She just wants to do her own thing and practice her yoga. But celebrity men are attracted to her. In this book, maybe she's finally met her match.

While this book can totally be read on its own, I wish I had reread the first book in this series before reading this. It had been a while since I read the first Hollywood Dating book and I think I would have loved book 2 even more if book 1 was more familiar. It's like being a Star Wars fan and not rewatching episodes 1-6 before going to see episode 7. To achieve maximum results, reread and reenjoy Emily. But that would just be the icing on the cake, and this cake is delicious all by itself.

4.0 out of 5 stars Fun read 13 June 2016

It's different from other Hollywood based stories. The heroine is a celebrity who was burned by her rock star boyfriend. She's determined to keep away from all celebrities. She's changed going to a morning yoga class to keep away from everyone talking about her breakup. Only there is a super star actor there, that grows an interest in her because she ignores him. Eventually the inevitable happens, but she wants to keep their relationship a secret because of what happened before. Her actor boyfriend wants to go pubic and she bulks. Misunderstand and reconciliation. It's a fun read.
4.0 out of 5 stars Plain Girl Burned Out by Paparazzi Wooed By Superstar... Can she take the heat that comes with the love? 6 February 2017
By Guy Reviewing Romance and More - Published on Amazon.com

Hiding out in Hollywood is basically a rich alpha trying to woo a plain girl, but can plain girl deal with the papparazi if the romance works out?

Emily had a quick fling with superstar singer Cory, but when Cory went on to someone else, then she had dinner with yet someone else, the tabloids got hold of her photo and portrayed it as a "betrayal" and basically destroyed her career when Cory's fans complained vociferously and that lead to sponsors withdrawing their offers. Now shunning publicity, she was surprised to see TV/movie superstar Raine Kingston, in her morning yoga class... and he wanted to date her. But everything in her scream "no" because she has had it with the paparazzi. But Raine's persistent, and he has means to ensure their privacy. However, secrets always leak, esp. when Cory's publicist are willing to pounce on any sort of publicity, even when it involved an "ex". And soon Emily have to make a choice: give up the relationship for the anonymity and privacy she craved... or go with the man that made her happy, and be hounded by paparazzi?

With the backdrop of tinseltown gossip, the story was used to good effect, esp. when Emily helping at least one such gossip rag. The mental anguish is real, and conflict is true... How much privacy is there when everybody has a camera phone and everybody can be a blogger?
