I was gifted this book as and ARC by the author for an honest review. If you have always wondered what happened or is happening between Sloane and Hailey, you find out in this story. I love the Montgomery Ink series and this book was fabulous. Carrie Ann Ryan has hit another home run with this story. I just want to re-read this book and cannot wait to find out what else happens in this series.

I have been waiting for this story it seems like forever! I just knew it would be one of those hard ones for Carrie Anne Ryan to write and even harder for us readers to read. I was so right. Make sure you have your box of Kleenex handy when you settle down to read Hailey and Sloane's story. Please note this is a novella so it is not a LONG story but it is packed with so much emotion that it feels like a full size novel vs a novella.

If you have not read any of the other Montgomery Ink books you will be fine jumping in a reading this book but I have to tell ya, you are missing out on a great series of books from an amazing author. Grab them and get to know this family by blood and friendships. Hailey owns the Taboo, a cafe and bakery that shares a wall and door with Montgomery Ink where Sloane works. Those two have been circling each other for a long time. It is time they landed or flew away. Both are strong souls who have survived so much.... And we finally get to find out what and IF they land together or apart.

Hidden Ink IS my favorite Carrie Ann Ryan book of all times. I invite you to find out why I would give it 10 stars if there was a way to do so. It touches on so many things that we see every day in our lives and this books is just so moving.
Sorry I can not say more without giving the story away. You simply need to read this one folks.
HASH(0xaa81a714) out of 5 stars Full Bodied Reading 15 January 2016

For each one I read in this series they have their own stamp. Other ones you have come to know are mentioned but then you are given a closer look at a different character each time. In this one you get to get really up close and personal with Hailey and Sloane. They are survivors who have had their eye on each other for a long time now but nothing comes of it until now thanks to a little shove. Hailey goes into the shop to bring some treats and caffeine or other drinks, when she gets to Sloane his customer does a bit of flirting with her. Though he recognizes right away the signals between the two he has a few words for Sloane after she goes back to her shop. It was like open the door and let the fun begin. So next thing you know these two are going out with because of what has been read so far already has you hooked you are now glued and stuck like a melted smore. They also have a story all of their own with hers coming out first , than a incident will bring out his. this author has captured both of their reasons with the right emotion a clarity that unless you have been there or had it would be hard to do. Love also is demonstrated that it will be the base for a strong relationship that can overcome anything if allowed to flow between two people when they are meant for each other. Read the meaning for the title when you read their story which only like she knew Sloane could do.

I'll keep it short and spoiler free.

I really like this series, it gets better and better with each book. I enjoyed each of them, so far. Some more than others. That having been said, I feel these two deserved a novel of their own. Things felt a bit rushed, not as expanded as they could have been and boy, would it have been awesome then!

They both have secrets, they're both broken. I feel that you can't just tell a story for these two awesome characters in just a novella, so I do hope we'll get more on them.

Yes, I liked it but I wanted to love it.

3.5 stars. I want to thank the author for the copy given in exchange for an honest review.

I love this series, with all the muscles & ink & love & such. This one was deep & intense, with both Haileys & Sloans secrets. You're heart bleeds for them, all the while hoping they'll find their strength to be together. Total love. A definite must read

HASH(0xadf0a7c8) out of 5 stars Amazing story! 23 January 2016

Hidden Ink is a short-novel from Montgomery Ink Series, #4.5, by Carrie Ann Ryan.
It’s a short story, but very exciting and intense, in which the author wanted to write about a very sensitive issue and she was able to do it with great sensibility, gifting her readers with a story full of deep emotions, Hailey and Sloane’s story.
They are both two wonderful characters, amazing, a non-couple who had created a lot of expectations and we wondered when it would come their time and how they would play their cards.. And finally here they are!
Hailey is young, beautiful, determined and above all she has a spirit of steel. No one knows what she has faced in her past, she never found the right time to talk about it to the people that now have become a real family for her: the Montgomerys. She is a survivor and this thing instead of ruining her life has become for her a fresh new start and one more reason to learn how to pick the battles worth fighting for, and it seems Sloane’s one has become one of them.
Hailey is strong, but vulnerable, because when it comes to bare herself, in so many ways, in front of the man she fell in love with for years, a man who is more intricate and enigmatic than a puzzle, there are no certainties or securities. She risks everything without knowing if she could come out in one piece.
Her character transmit hope and strength, she’s someone who can find a bright side even to an experience that could have been devastating.
Sloane is gruff and of few words, I was completely surprised and amazed by his intensity. Yes at the beginning he is broody, a little despot, his jealousy is funny and absurd, as he tries to keep away from Hailey potential rivals, while he can’t decide to make the first move. And when he does, it cannot be say it was romantic as a wedding proposals or studied theoretically, but truly reflects what he is and maybe it can’t be expected otherwise.
Sloane is a man tormented by his past, his time in war zones as military has left indelible traces in him, still bleeding wounds, memories that haunt him, but perhaps because of them he’s the only person who can really understand Hailey. I was moved and left without words for his feelings for her, for the depth of his feelings for Hailey, which he kept so well hidden. I wanted to put a quote in this review with the words spoken by him to Hailey, as soon as she confides her secret, a reaction and words that literally took my breath away, but it wouldn’t have been fair to steal that wonderful moment to whoever still has to read the book, it would have been a rip off
This series by Carrie Ann Ryan is one of my favorites, it’s always able to give me new emotions: it’s funny, sexy and hot, but I’m in love with the friendship, the love and the affection that binds together the Montgomerys and the people who have become part of their lives, these books fill my heart and mind of positive feelings.
This time, however, I found a something more in this novel, that made it so special and leave a message to many women, that can only be positive, thanks to Hailey and Sloane and the author who wanted to tell their story.
