I found our [book Series] hero “Trip” incredibly frustrating. So much indecision and self-doubt in this character that, at times, I wanted him to die…horribly!
I would have really enjoyed the Series and given a 5-Star rating if not for “Trip”. In order to continue reading, I “skipped” the copious paragraphs throughout the Series wherein the character continued to castigate and moan to himself (and others). “Trip” you seriously need extensive, long-term, professional help.

Lindsay B never disappoints. She creates complex, believable characters (human and otherwise) who actually change/mature - in skills, sophistication, integrity, genuineness and sometimes even allegiance - as they move courageously through plots that unfold with plenty of thrills and spills; just the right touch of romance and quirky humour; loads of imaginative “side trips” and unique, creative elements; and ethical dilemmas that are the right side of thoughtful rather than preachy. I love spending time with all the very likeable characters in their entrancing steam punk world. They give me joy and relief from my sometimes tricky reality and L. B. always hits the right balance of leaving you wanting more while tying up sub-plot lines to great satisfaction. I seriously can’t get enough of her. Thank god she is so prolific!! P. S. I hope someone decides to make movies out of them, they would translate beautifully.

I found this series entertaining. The author drew me in with her scene descriptions and her character development. Humour interlaced with a bit of romance and lots of adventure. I highly recommend this series especially if you are a science or fantasy fan

These were my introduction to Lindsay Buroker’s Dragon Blood books, even though set a few years after those stories. Telryn (Sidetrip) is fun. All he wants to do is pilot his fighter plane, and he has the instincts. In a world where witches are killed, it’s not ideal having so many good hunches, so he is naturally self effacing. He is different enough to be noticed and deeply enough written that his emotions make sense. Will he get to stay a flyer at the end? Will he be able to make a place for himself? You have to read to the end to find out. Oh, and Lindsay Buroker ....... more please

As usual Lindsay Buroker has created a story to keep readers of fantasy glued to the pages. I recommend this to not only followers of this talented writer, but to all lovers of this genre, and to all readers who have yet to read her books.

Lindsay Buroker just has a way of telling a story that's in depth and personal, slighly comedic while getting into the nitty gritty of the story itself. i am not going to reveal any of the plot, only to say it's well worth a read

So well written. Full of adventure. Has romance but not smutty. This book is funny as well. I couldn't put it down. I read the entire series whenever I had a spare moment I would be reading. I will be looking for more books by this author!

Too brilliant for words!Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 2 July 2019
What a treat to read the whole series from start to finish! There are wonderful key new characters, as well as the return of favourites Sardelle, Ridge Zirkander, Kaika, Jaxi the soulblade and golden dragon 'God' and tummy rub fan, Bhrava Saruth. The books are typically humourous, fun, adventurous and heart-warming. I've loved this series as much as its predecessor and can heartily recommend it.

I have thoroughly enjoyed all the books in the dragon blood and heritage of power books. I have read all of them three times now and enjoyed them as if it was the first time. I really hope to hear of more books coming out because I want to know about trips dragon. Also his siblings.

A really great fantasy readReviewed in the United Kingdom on 19 September 2019
I first read "Dragon Blood" series and was sad to leave the characters after the last book. However in the "Heritage of Power" series the characters I loved (Zirkander, the dragon Bhrava Saruth, snarky sentient sword Jaxi etc) reappear with some new ones - Trip, Rysha and dragon Shulina Arya. I love the humour in these two series, it makes the stories so enjoyable, I only wish I could meet the characters in person! I hope there will be another series following the missions of Trip et al. I like everything that Lindsay Buroker writes but these two series are different from most fantasy books - witty, great fun, charming, well written and take you right into the world of Iskandia

Dragons, magic and planesReviewed in the United Kingdom on 9 August 2020
Although these books are not technically steampunk I believe they would be enjoyed by lovers of that genre. These books contained everything I love. Dragons, magic, a good story and conflict between the goodies and the baddies. Throughout the series queries are thrown in the readers path such as why is Trip so strong in magic, will he and Rysha confess their feelings for each other? I have to admit the first couple of chapters I couldn't get "Those Magnificient Men in their Flying Machines" song out of my head, but then it moved on to the magic, and humourous angle as well as the flying. Also entertaining were the nicknames of the pilots which tickled my sense of humour. When dragons appeared my satisfaction was complete and I read the books in a very short time, then discovered there was a previous series which led into this one so I went and purchased that too. Well done Lindsay Buroker, brilliant books which are difficult to put down once I started reading.
