Through this book, I learnt that as a grandparent you can make a difference in the life of your dyslexic grandchild. I learnt that we should not sit back and wait for things to get better all by themselves. I was quite confused about dyslexia before reading this book, but now I have a structure to work with to help my daughter and my grandson. It is a very practical, easy reading book.

4.0 out of 5 stars I would recommend this book for those beginning and learning on this ... 23 November 2015

As a parent of a 19 year old, who was diagnosis at the age of 3 years old & again in 3rd grade. I would recommend this book for those beginning and learning on this long road of helping your child succeed in school & life. I found the explanation of the struggles our children face & the importance of a strong, support advocate pertinent to success. I disagreed with some points. Could be the diffence experience of the UK vs US. I became a warrior for my daughter, refusing the "educational" system in one of the top noted school districts for learning disabilities. Even though my daughter was well documented, the district continued manipulation, lies and neglect, in hope I and many other families would give up. It's the love and belief we have for our children which drives us to continue this fight, giving a future. I did file seven charges with our state against the school & district, which they were found guilty. Today, my daughter is in her first year of college persuing a degree in education on a partical scholarship.

I found this easy to read and gave me some ideas for further research into why my child doesn't seem to learn like my other kids . After reading this book I realised that there are subtle things that she does that can suggest further investigating -
