Product description

Product Description

Escaping a war-ravaged Earth, Mesa Adair has made her home miles below the surface of Aleucia in the underground city of Hope. But salvation comes at a price. Her life is no longer her own, her every move monitored, and her freedom limited by the alien warriors who rescued humanity from their dying planet. The only bright spot in her new reality is her position as a personal assistant to the most powerful male in the city, but even that is about to come to an end.

From the moment the raven-haired beauty stepped into his office, Director Raxcor Wyeth knew he had to have her. The more she challenges him, the more he wants her, but lately, something has changed. She’s distracted, guarded, and when she requests a transfer to a different level of the city, he knows he’ll do anything to keep her, anything to protect her. Mesa might be human, but she belongs to him—whether she realizes it yet or not.

Note to Readers: This book was previous published as Nero’s Protection under a different pen name and contains no significant changes.

4.0 out of 5 stars Short but satisfying 10 April 2017

The back story was different enough to catch my attention but the plot played out like an office romance--with aliens. Throw in a stalker and there you have it.
I was disappointed the heroine was drunk when she became intimate for the first time with the hero. It was irritating when she wouldn't get help from being stalked.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great new story! 7 December 2016

I can't wait to get book 2. I have read many of Kali Argent's books oberthe years. I was intrigued about story in her Heat Rising book. It took an interesting twist in the alien vs terran (earth) relationship. I was dissapointed when it ended. I look foward to reading more about the inhabitants of New Hope.

Very fast read but very good. I guess it's supposed to lay the foundation for a new series. Looks interesting.
