I have read and loved all Ms Roberts' sports books, so reading her new Heat series was a no brainer.

I was not sure what to expect when I started Heat, but I have to say it sure lived up to it's name.

Madison - Mak - is an ex cop turned PI. All she has ever wanted in life has been ripped away from her through injury and her new career has thrown her into the path of those she swore to fight against.

Her life has always been black and white, good and bad. She is now starting to realise that there as so many grey areas in life.

Moon is not exactly what she expects. Meeting him, seeing the man behind the police file throws her world into a spin.

The attraction sizzles between Mak and Moon, leaps off the pages. They are so bad for each other, but oh so right.

But can they overlook all their differences to get their HEA?

Heat has a dark, undercurrent that unexpectedly helps Mak and Moon's love story along the way.

I thoroughly enjoyed Heat, and can't wait for the next in the series.

If only I could give this book 10 stars I would. Once I started to read I didn't and couldn't put it down until I was reading the last page and then I was hoping there were more pages to read. The story drew me in and I was loving every minute of it.Things are getting hot in Phoenix and I am not talking about the temperature. Mak, short for Madison, is an ex-cop, who had to leave the force because of an injury so she becomes a Private Investigator. While she is working on a case she runs into some members of one of the largest crime syndicates in the southwest. She becomes injured so is taken to Moon's home, he is the head of the crime family. They have an instant attraction that they both try to fight but Mak is in danger and Moon makes it his mission to keep her safe. The attraction grows as does the danger to Mak. This book had me hooked after the first couple of pages, its a love story in the truest sense of the word. Mixed in among the crime, dirty cops,
bad guys, and the good guys, there is hot, sizzling romance. It is one of those books that you just hate to see the last page when you get to it.
I was given this book as as arc reader for an honest review.

WOW! Don't miss this one. I mean it. I was given an ARC in exchange for an honest review, and purchased the book for myself and gifted it to others. This book grabbed me from the first page just like the first Holly S. Roberts book I happened on to (One Dom at a Time of the El Diablo Club Series). I'm not a blogger or professional reviewer, just a recreational reader, but I know my stuff...I proofread for a living. This author is one of the BEST I've ever read. HEAT will clearly be a top 2016 read. Like I said, she captures you from the first page and never lets go, all the way to the end. She develops believable characters that you feel are your friends by the time you're deep in the book. If you've ever wondered how a persons eye color changes with their moods, read this. If you've ever been faced with moral dilemmas, read this. If you like strong women and men who can be soft when the time is right, read this. I recommend this author all the time and this is no exception. You can get it on sale as a preorder and the release day, so act NOW. If you miss that, it's still way cheaper than a movie and it should be a movie, you will have hours of heart pounding enjoyment (with a few moments of "cover your eyes" scenes, but don't, it's all good, no great). Thanks Holly for another great read. I'll be rereading many times.

I started this book not sure how I would feel about it since the male lead was a criminal. Just could not see how I would even like a character I would never want to know in real life. Well Holly Roberts taught me that a great story line and a talented author could make me fall in love with just that character. My mind and heart were warring just like Mak's was but at the same time I cheered for Moon to win her over as he had me. This book was a true joy to read and reminded me that life is many shades of grey. This was a great story but even more important it made me rethink how I view people. A book should touch us in some way. This was not only an entertaining story but taught me to be more open in my views. Looking forward to the next in the series with much anticipation.
