Heart of Mars is the finale to the Lora trilogy by the prolific Paul Magrs, picking up from Lost On Mars, and The Martian Girl. It's a fantastic conclusion to a wonderful series that sees Lora grow up fully, while still powering through her adventures by simply refusing to ever give up.
The trilogy builds on the best eerie poetic bits of Ray Bradbury's Martian Chronicles / Silver Locusts, and owes a heavy debt to Little House On The Prairie, and the fractious sibling relationship of Mill On The Floss. And in an adventure where few of the wild creatures Lora encounters are wholly wicked, it's a testament to Paul's writing that none of them are entirely pleasant either.
There are bits in this final volume that will make you cry, unless you have a heart of granite. And in a Paul Magrs novel, even a talking table lamp can have the purest heart of all.

Perfect conclusion to an excellent seriesReviewed in the United Kingdom on 13 April 2018
Having loved the first two books in Paul Magrs' "Mars" trilogy, I eagerly awaited the chance to read "Heart of Mars". It didn't disappoint. All the brilliant characters from the previous books are back and the story comes to a very satisfying conclusion, while, I'm delighted to say, not closing the door on the possibility of a return to Mars in the future (please!) This is a superb series and has been a joy from start to finish.

Girl on MarsReviewed in the United States on 28 December 2019
This trilogy was quite an adventure for a young or older reader. Use your imagination, and you will enjoy the whole story. Some of the story will be quite scary for younger readers, but the reasons for all the parts comes together in the last chapters. Good read.
