Product Description

Despite a successful college teaching career, Noah Daniels has become depressed. He feels he’s leading a monochromatic life: love has eluded him. When he’s offered a chance to teach in London as part of an exchange program, he accepts, hoping a change of scenery will do him good. But once he’s there, his outlook on love and sexuality changes in ways he never expected.

Robert Callinan is Noah’s English counterpart in the program. The men exchange not only their jobs, but also their homes, and it is what Noah stumbles across while staying at Robert’s house that sends him on a journey of self-discovery—both mentally and physically. A journey that puts color back into his life… just not in the way he expected. When the exchange program ends, Noah has to go home, but he doesn’t know if he wants to return to the life he left behind.

5.0 out of 5 stars I loved reading how he and Robert got to know one ... 7 August 2014

As with all Lily Velden's stories, I was hooked from the first word. Noah reminded me that life shouldn't be about going through the motions, and here he was, living a monochrome existence. Until he moved to London and found the box that matched the mystery key.

That's where is journey of self-discovery begins. And boy, is it some journey. I loved reading how he and Robert got to know one another, and more than enjoyed the connection they shared when they finally met face to face.

Robert was a funny, likable man, and sexy as hell! I was disappointed about Noah's unresolved relationship with his brother, but I like to think they found a way to work it out, but was glad that these two boys found their way together.

Great read. As ever, I loved the lush descriptions of every place they visited. Made me want to travel back to the UK and Europe again.

"Heart Knot Mine" is unwaveringly intimate and emotionally exploratory, and completely fulfilling. Noah's presence- his hopes and dreams, fears and failures are so incredibly vivid, he nearly materializes in full corporeal splendor with Lily Velden's thoughtfully constructed sentences. I can't find any fault with the story- Noah's personal growth was perfectly balanced with the love story. And what a love story it is. Noah and Robert are beautiful together.

I'm so glad I took a chance and downloaded an unfamiliar author- her writing touched me in a way I was unprepared for.

This was my first novel by this author, but it will not be the last. The characters were engaging, multi-dimensional, and real. The fact that their love story takes place in large part while they are on separate continents, allows us as a reader to get to know them and care for them. Their conflict and resolution made my heart ache and then rejoice. I am looking so forward to seeing what else this author has to offer. If it is like Heart Knot Mine, I will be a very happy reader

Lily Velden is quickly becoming one of my favorite authors. I have read her first two, and find that her writing is getting better with each effort. I enjoyed this story, and the meaning behind the title was really sweet when it's revealed.

The bath house scene had me laughing out loud-- "I'm only here for the massage and sauna" t-shirt worn by the staff member was too funny for words. I agree with Noah, at least the management had a sense of humor.

I don't blame Noah at all for staying in Europe just a little longer. If I had a chance to travel around Europe for the summer--I'd have been all over it. The bonus was having the man he has been watching erotic videos of for six months accompany him.

Very satisfying read.

I loved Noah, boy I wish he wasn't gay! Ha Ha! Great story with well fleshed out characters, and realistic view on a 31year old man finally figuring out what was missing in his life! I must agree with the other review Robert wasn't someone you would want your brother to date, but I felt he redeemed himself in the end. It was Mitch I wanted to throttle how could he just turn off his love like a faucet??? You don't throw family away like that.... I would like to see a continuation of this story. If your reading this Lily Velden please write a sequel.... I want to know how Noah and Robert are doing???? Did Mitch come to his senses??? Well anyway enjoyable read with 3649 locations, heartedly recommended .
