I am sorry to see the end of the Ridlingtons, they have been a joy to know and I have really enjoyed every one of the 6 novels. This one was my favourite as I was hoping for a happy ending for Hecate. The hero in this book is also one of the best. These stories are beautifully written with well drawn and fleshed out characters that improve through each story and never lose their appeal to readers. Sahara is true to the period and her facts about Waterloo add some gravitas to the story. Her books will always be a must buy for me in the future.
Well the last one, Book 6, and although I loved the others in the series, this one was special. Hecate, the youngest of the family was a fragile young woman, looked after by her Indian bodyguard (who I was pleased found love in the end with the most unexpected lady) and it was amazing that Finn (the lovable Irish rogue who was friendly with Richard, (Hecate's brother) who was the main character in Book 5) came into her life. Life is full of strange co-incidences and this story showed it. A very fitting ending to a great series and I would recommend you to read all of them. I can't say enough about the talent of this author. VERY, VERY HIGHLY RECOMMENDED.

Thank you for not having Finn discover that he had become an Earl of Baron or Duke due to the Typhus epidemic in Ireland... That would hAve been too predictable, which is not what your books have been about.
Hecate Ridlington is the youngest and the only unmarried sibling of the six. On a cold and breezy night in the summer, of which there seems to be no end to the horrible weather. Hecate went for a walk with Dal. During her walk, she heard a cry of someone in need of help. Finn Casey was on the brink of death. He was so cold, and he had a fever. A torn blanket and uniform were all that covered him. Hecate found him and knew he had Typhus, he was very thin because he could not eat. Finn was Irish, a soldier and had fought at Waterloo. She was determined to keep him alive. She had special gifts that helped with her healing. It is a mysterious tale with a lot of surprises. It is well written, easy to read, and moves smoothly. I highly recommend this book but for the older crowd. I received this ARC from the author and voluntarily reviewed it.
