Product Description

Days after arriving in Australia for a working holiday, Zack Doherty is blindsided by the connection he instantly feels to Heath Connors, but circumstances don’t work in their favour. Zack is uncharacteristically forward in pushing Heath to accept a date when fate gives him a second opportunity.

Heath has only recently had the courage to admit his true self, walking away from his marriage and a good job when he could no longer lie to himself. The attraction he feels for a stranger that fleetingly crossed his path confirms he made the right choice. Will Zack be the one to mend Heath’s heart of glass?

5.0 out of 5 stars A heart warming, hugging myself feel good story. 25 August 2013

Loved it! All the feels that I've come to expect from M/M stories. I always find the emotions and relationships just have a much more realistic quality to them for some reason. I don't know why, but women just write a man's emotions so well. Or it could be they write the emotions the way women want them to be. Either way, I love the relationships.

This was a great short story. Really good characterizations, and a nice well paced flow to the story line. Not rushed to conclusion at all. All the pieces fit so well.

Heath and Zack are both in the moving forward phase of their lives after suffering bad prior relationships. Heath more so after coming to terms with who he really is and walking away from his life, family and job. Zack moves on by leaving his life behind in the States to live in Australia with his father, reconnecting after so many years apart.

These two have a brief but memorable encounter, meet again, and move forward in their relationship letting go of their pasts and choosing to live in the moment and what life brings them.

A heart warming, hugging myself feel good story.

5.0 out of 5 stars Sweet, sexy and insightful 15 August 2013

For a short story, LJ Harris certainly managed to pack in a lot of character development, and even managed to throw in a great secondary character in Greta. I adored both her MC's - Heath and Zack. The were written with such sensitivity that I wanted them both to be happy from the first page. The story is told in the first person, alternating between the two men which I enjoyed very much as it offered insights into them both. It also made their unfolding story feel all the more personal.

I hope to see more from LJ Harris as I like her writing style very much.
4.0 out of 5 stars A sweet romantic story 23 December 2013

Heath is in a hard place in life after leaving behind everything he had worked hard to achieve to start his life anew. In a chance meeting with Zach, Heath finds the reassurance that he made the right decision when he decided to embrace his sexuality. But with it comes doubts and hesitations about getting hurt and not being enough for the man he is so attracted to.

I loved this story! Both Heath and Zach were lovable characters I could easily see together. Their view in life was different but their attraction was overwhelming and couldn't be denied. From the moment they met their connection jumped off the page and it was a treat to see how the author brought it all around to give these two something new to look forward to.

I enjoyed their chemistry, their interactions and their honesty. Each had some demons to deal with but neither denied the connection that had brought them together. They embraced it, dealt with issues they were concerned with and came together at last.

All in all, a sweet romantic story with all the elements I have come to expect in the genre - great characters, amazing chemistry and range in emotion.

5.0 out of 5 stars Ace! 16 August 2013

Second Chances ~ An interesting concept to be given to write on. Heart of Glass explored this theme well because the author took a different approach from the usual "person goes through bad break up, but then decides to give their ex another chance;" instead, Harris lets her characters move on. Where other stories take the angle of the "second chance" being a rekindling of old flames, Heart of Glass will pleasantly surprise you with two men who go on to establish better lives and find happiness with new love interests so the reader is given that experience of "first rush" as they get their "second chance" at love.

This is a lovely tale, that will have you rooting for Zack and Heath's happily ever after! ~R.E. Hargrave
