I hate to not give the "Queen of True Crime" 5 stars but there were some parts of this book that I found a little boring. This was a very complex crime and as usual, Mrs. Rule did an excellent job giving all of the details. The part that I found boring was after the trial and all of the custody issues. I thought that went a little long as it went back and forth and back and forth concerning who would get the two young children who were basically orphaned. I thought it was quite confusing and long winded.
As for the crime itself, that was very interesting! I think Ann was "spot on" in her analysis of the crime. This three time wife told so many lies that I think she thought she could get away with anything. She had been convincing so many times, why not try murder and lie her way out of that too!? Some people said that she lied so much that she probably believed her own lies. Oh no! She knew exactly what she was doing and I believe as a result a really great guy paid the ultimate price...his life!
This is a great book that all true crime buffs must read!
