This is another book in a list of the same series starting with the Dragon Lords of Valdier. They are full of action, very romantic, and lots of space shenanigans. I really like all these books as they are well written with interesting, in depth characters, a good plot which gets resolved by the end and handsome, buff bodied males who love well and eternally. The description of the new worlds is great as I can really picture being there. The couples always go through a rough patch but love wins out. The characters are likeable, very capable and the women are no pussies. In fact, my only complaint would be that they display a few too vicious characteristics which,I’m sure, would do nothing to enhance the reputation of earthwomen to aliens. It’s quite funny in places too.
First read in the box set PETS IN SPACE 3. I must admit to buying this book but not rushing to reread it as I have been waiting for the next book to answer some questions from this story. The beginning has you gritting your teeth at the horror happening. It starts out going back in time to the Great War and is very upsetting with all the evil and treasonous things happening that make up some of the past history of the Sarafin and the war between the Curizan and Valdier. I will admit to liking this story very much but not loving it. Found it missing that trademark spark of Ms Smith and lacking the humorous and romantic aspect of the previous books. Thought the actual Heart of the Cat philosophy was sweet. It is what is inside your heart that matters. I found it slow going at a couple of parts and then felt rushed at the ending. Did not do this series justice and has left a lot of things open ended. It was just too condensed with what happens to Raul, Vlad getting away, with no descriptive explanation from any point of view. We then are jumping weeks and months ahead Things must be carried over in future books but I do like a tidier ending. What happened with Vlad the Hunter? His being able to get away from a Sarafin Prince was shocking. He must be returning in Katarina’s, the sisters, story. Did they get any information from Ranker?
S.E. Smith is amazing. Love everything she writes and I have read everything that is available on Amazon to buy. She is quite simply brilliant. A beautiful storyteller, creative genius in the worlds and characters she brings together, her words touch you in a way you never expect. Her books are always a go-to re-read for me. I love her books and her series. Everytime I pick one up I know I’m going to get lost in her story.
While this book isn't nearly as strong as the first two of the cats in the overall series, it is still worth a read as it intergrates with the other characters nicely.

So unlike some of the other reviewers I haven't read Pets in Space so I didn't have any pre-existing knowledge of the storyline in this book.
I have really enjoyed the offshoots from the Valdier series and had high expectations for this book. After all, Riley and Tina's stories were action packed and most importantly, they were full of humour. I mean who doesn't enjoy a cat shape-shifter being tasered?
Unfortunately, I found that this book lacked the humour of the previous books and the lead in to the main event was quite long. Maybe it concentrated a little bit too much on the introduction of new characters, who will probably have their own books.
There has now been 3 Sarafin books but only 1 Curizan. I am hoping that Ms Smith returns to giving them more attention in the future.

I eagerly awaited the next installment of the cat shifting series. The prevoius two books are gut renchingly funny and heart warmingly brilliant. This however was a boring stilted story with zero pasion and a rushed storyline. No drama, lacked humor, emotion, excitement. This felt like a filler book and the villin was eliminated in two seconds. i really did not care about the characters and just wanted some i dteam between them. Such a let down the hslf of the book builds suspense and interest but by the time they meet this is gone and only rubbidh remains. i have deleted this from my kindle as having it next to Riley and Tina's story is an i insult .

After stopping one traitor, he is accidentally injured and taken to a sanctuary for care. The sanctuary call on the help of big cat expert Trescina Bukov. With confusion and misunderstandings before all is revealed and all ends well.
After waiting for a few years it's brilliant to get the next installment in the search for the heart of the cat sexy aliens dangerous foes a happy every after the only problem it ended too soon can't wait for the next bit to come
