From the day he was 18, Gabe’s life changed drastically. He lost both of his parents in a tragic car accident and had to raise his 8 years old sister, Nicole. All he wanted to do was party and enjoy his teenage life and go to college. Instead, he had to mature really fast, find a job that would allow him time with his sister but also bring enough money to keep a roof above their heads, pay the bills, feed them and make her happy.

As if things weren’t bad enough, Gabe finds himself in the middle of two clubs at war. On one faithful night, he meets the one woman that will hold his heart forever, becomes the target of the most vicious MC around Louisiana and becomes a prospect for the Last Hangman.

What happens when the love of your life is taken from you and you have to witness her horrible demise?

Things aren’t always what they seem.

5.0 out of 5 stars Definately a keeper! 15 May 2015

The books in this series are interesting in the fact you know they are a outlaw mc. Several mentions of their illegal activities by the violence is fairly kept to a minimum. It's the perfect book for people who can't handle detailed violence. Having said that even though not spelled out leaves you to only imagine what's happening. Hope you will give these a try.
4.0 out of 5 stars Less teasing and more... 25 April 2015

I already liked Gabe who I met in a previous book, so I enjoyed getting to know him better. I always enjoy hanging out with the other characters that reappear in every book in the series. I agree to the loving description of them being, "one massive dysfunctional family". They are there for each other and the humorous banter that is always present keeps me amused. I'm enjoying the women in the series too. They have overcome a lot of s*** and managed to maintain their sense of humor and their obsession with "red velvet donuts". There are a lot of colorful characters that will make awesome stories for upcoming installments. I'm seeing little glimpses and teases that make me want to see Ryan & Charlotte get together. I want to adopt Bennett, he's just too cute. And, I'm thinking that Sanders has a lot of twisted feelings that he needs to purge in badass way that I'm anxious to read about. I really appreciate the authors storytelling skills, she keeps me engrossed with all of the plot twists and turns and the different relationships that carry on throughout each book. And did I mention the suspense that will have you biting your nails and holding your breath? And um...the dirty-talkin' badass bikers have some excellent 'equipment' and 'skills' that will have you fanning yourself and blushing (wink-wink).

5.0 out of 5 stars Gabe does the best he can trying to take care of his little ... 28 August 2015

Healing Gabe (The Last Hangman, MC #3) By Muriel Garcia tells the story of Gabriel Lyle who at the age of 18 finds himself after the death of his parents the guardian to his 8 year old sister. Gabe does the best he can trying to take care of his little sister when he has no clue what he is doing. On his 21st birthday he is out trying to enjoy himself when he comes across a young lady who is being harassed by some guy. He intervenes to help her and the guy Gabe runs into is a member of a notorious motorcycle club. Fortunately for Gabe Cabe comes to his aide and offers him protection and help by way of joining the Last Hangman. Gabe’s story is one of heart break something he never wants to experience again. After joining the hangman Gabe finds himself dating Anne, the twin sister of the young lady he helped at the bar Vivian. Vivian and Anne lost their parents young and are the ward of their uncle who has promised them to The Last Hangman’s arch rival. A gang that is notorious for committing heinous crimes against women. Anne and Gabe end up having to sneak around in order to be together. After being found out Annie is killed, Vivian leaves town and Gabe was badly beaten. This is why Gabe has had nothing but one night stands. He is closed off because of all the lost he has experienced. Years later Vivian comes back into town and into Gabe’s life. The past has come back with a vengeance especially after what has been going on between the two clubs. This was another good story of The Kings trying to take down the Last Hangman with many twist and turns. An added twist was introduced at the end of the book that I did not expect and was truly surprised. I give Gabe’s story 4.5 O’s
3.0 out of 5 stars A really good story, but missed the mark, at least for me. 11 February 2017

3 1/2 stars

I'm going to be honest, I haven't been impressed with the first two books of this series. I had already borrowed the entire series from KU so I decided to go ahead and read Gabe's story, since he was one of the very few characters that I actually liked. I'm glad that I read this, as it was a whole lot better than the others, but it was still missing the mark in my opinion.

The author has a great imagination when it comes to creating her stories. They're exciting, intriguing, suspenseful, and is something that I would really enjoy, but the execution just isn't there. This story had a fantastic plot, and although it is the best of the series so far, it wasn't anything like it could have been. The characters in this book are a huge improvement over the last two books. Gabe actually acted like a man, but nothing like the biker he's supposed to be, at least in my opinion. The other big improvement was the use of descriptions of the characters facial expressions (ie. smirked, etc..) was considerably less, which was great, but still too much for my taste.

Overall, this was a good book and definitely the best of this series. However, I have decided that I am not going to continue with this series. I am sure that most of what I have written in my reviews is more of my personal opinion, and not that of the majority of people. With that said, if you are interested in this book/series, request a sample to see if it is something that you can enjoy.

5.0 out of 5 stars I can say nothing more than this is fantastic!! 26 April 2015

This is the Gabe’s story and it is a story that just needed to be told because the world needs to hear not only history but HISTORY.
And we get it all, what lead to him joining the hangmen, what left him doubting all around him and forced him to become the man that you would never want to have to face , be you a brother or not.
Taking up from the end of book two, the club is a complete flux, they are at war with one club but trying to form new ties with others in a bid to finally wipe the craziness that is the Kings from the face of the planet.
I loved finding out Gabe’s back story – the lengths he went to fight and protect his sister, what he had to do to join the club had what plagues him at nights, the nightmares that leave his soul conflicted.
Can he finally find peace? Can he find a way to protect his sister from the demons that surround him and threaten to harm not just her but the club too?
I felt for him and the confusion and conflict he was experiencing, because it would have driven bigger and better to despair, the way he held on- just pulled at my heartstrings, this man wanted nothing more than to see his sister and club happy, I wanted him to have a little bit of happiness for himself- please.
So you can imagine my hysteria when Viv returned to the club and despite the time they had spent apart they had not a hope in hell of ever being able to resist the pull between the two of them. The past still loomed large between them but it wasn’t enough to keep them apart and I was glad of that – they were hot a hades together!!!
The story gave credence to the fact that there are times when a second chance is the chance that you just have to take and hold on tight to because he is the one that is calling your name – giving you the heads up that it won’t come knocking on your door again – you fight for what you gave up on first of all – it your now or never moment!!!
As with all good MC novels (and this is a good MC novel – infect it is great MC not only novel but series) you are never left lacking in the emotion department!
I look forward to reading the next in this series and commend the author on what is a super series – long may it continue!!
