Not her best.Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 7 May 2021
I didn't like this one. Some of her later books in this serie are more interesting and the characters more likeable. I didn't like the main hero ,who acted more like a child than an adult. The story was awful as reactions and decisions of hero's were so illogical and stupid that I just skip to the last few chapters to finish the book as soon as possible! I regret to have spent my money ! I just find the stories and characters (all of them) immature. Not plausible even to the limit of ridicule. Will maybe buy Stevie 's story to finish the Baltimore series but not certain as I hate to waste my money !
Stick to crime and forget the romance KarenReviewed in the United Kingdom on 5 September 2015
This is the second book by Karen Rose that I've read, and I won't be reading any more. The 'romance' and laughable sex scenes are completely out of place in this book, and feel as if they have been written by a completely different author and slotted in. Karen should stick to writing crime novels , which she is very good at. The 'romance' element is almost identical to to the 'romance' element in the other book I read (Gone Girl) and completely unrealistic. The heros of both these books are not at all realistic. What real man, no matter how honourable, could stop and walk away after reaching such exalted heights of passion and lovemaking? Really? This happens twice in both books. I guess the idea is to build the anticipation, but it just made me yawn. Severe jealousy and posessiveness are deeply unattractive qualities in a man and turned me off the hero. Being cheated on by a previous partner is no excuse for such tantrums, and in my experience, men who behave this way do not change with time. The woman heroine is ridiculously perfect in every way, and a complete caricature (silk stockings and suspenders - really? The book would have been excellent without this nonsense. Please don't misunderstand me - I like a good, well written romance, and am happy to read sexy novels, but this is not the author's best genre.

Classic RoseReviewed in the United Kingdom on 1 July 2020
Thoroughly enjoyed this one. The characters seemed more plausible with all their faults, more human. Great story. I figured out who the villain was before it was revealed but not how the whole thing played out. If you love Karen Rose / Loreth Ann White you'll love this. Trying to read them in order now after stumbling across a later series initially and finding myself hooked.
Good but getting irritatedReviewed in the United Kingdom on 4 March 2019
I love Karen rose’s style and pace but she needs to keep the storyline and ending different. After just my second book I was getting a suspicion that she is following a cliche - the heroine in the final tussle with the perp.. I decided to give myself a break because it annoyed me but if the next in the series follows the same format then I will get irritated and bored real fast!

Great ReadReviewed in the United Kingdom on 18 April 2019
Love my Karen Rose Books, I have every one written to date. I read them again and again, these are to replace the ones that have gone missing and/or now have loose pages. I have had to number them sequentially, even though they are stand alone novels, some do follow on and some times the correct sequence is not followed. Hey, who cares they are all not put downable until finished.
