An emotive and immersive collection which reminded me of the early days of cyberpunk, circa Mirrorshades. Many different situations, different eras and different responses, but centering around the human experience of technological change. All stories were well-structured and satisfying to read, and I appreciated the blending of established talents such as Warren Ellis and Jeff Noon with the chance to discover new writers.
I would recommend this to fans of the Year's Best Science Fiction anthologies, who prefer tales of human experience to a detailed description of how exactly the habitat is made.
Just finished reading. Incredibly engaging, thoughtful treatment of humanity and technology through short stories. Most stories were good, several were *spectacular.* Good pacing and arrangement, often left me wanting to read more right as it moved on to the next treatment. Very worth buying.
