If you've read Hard Fall, you'll know the type of family Chandler comes from. If you haven't yet read book 2, the Westbrookes' are the wealthy owners of various sports teams and expect their progeny to follow in their footsteps. Just like Hollis (from Hard Fall), Chandler wants nothing more than to break away from this tradition and do something that she loves, but unlike Hollis, she lacks the self-confidence to do so from the start. That isn't to say she doesn't have self-confidence (she definitely does) but she does need a little nudge when it comes to family and her career.
What I really loved about these two characters throughout the entire book was their inability to just fall in love. There is no insta-love in this book. They are both incredibly stubborn and independent, and the title is fitting: Hard Love. There are lots of back-and-forths with their acquaintanceship that then builds into friendship and love. There are just as many sweet moments as there are bang-your-head-against-the-wall moments and 'what are you doing, fool?' moments. Basically the development of their love felt realistic which I loved; they also got schooled by a secondary character several times and I loved that even more!
Overall, this was well worth the wait. Hard Love was such a fun, entertaining story and full of the heart and well-timed wit you'd expect from any of Sara Ney's books. There were so many moments that had me laughing out loud and feeling like I never wanted the book to end. I would highly recommend this series to anyone who enjoys contemporary romance, sports romance, romcoms or the ultimate trifecta combination of all of the above.
Tripp Wallace ... what Can I say about him? I fell so hard for this man. Yes, he was grumpy, he was arrogant, a touch jealous and, in my opinion, he was lost. He wanted to find that someone special, yet with his attitude and his inability to express his feelings just didn't help his cause. Yet, it was his inner thoughts, his sarcasm and his wit that drew me in, I wanted him to find his happiness, his special someone. Chandler Westbrooke, the poor little rich girl, who wanted to break away from her family and gain her independence. Coming from a family who was unable to show affection, it was the one thing that she truly desired, but would she find it? She was a superb foil for Tripp, giving back as good as she got. She certainly knew how to flip this man ... literally.
Tripp and Chandler's story is definitely not one that is laid back and easy, in fact it is one crazy insane ride. The banter between them at times bordering on hilarious. Even though they may both deny it, there is an instant spark between them, and it slowly builds as their story progresses. Tripp's inability with any sort of social graces and Chandler's class and style, lead to some amusing dates and situations. I adored this couple, they were perfect together.
The real star of this story though is Molly, Tripp's fifteen year old next door neighbour. This girl is wise beyond her years. I love the way he "chats" with Tripp ... straight to the point and nothing is held back.
If you want a fun book, one that will have you laughing constantly, then this is the one. Sara Ney never leads you astray, so sit back, put your feet up and enjoy a slow-burn romance with lots of laughs and a couple you'll never forget.

✨✨✨✨✨ FIVE STARS ✨✨✨✨✨
I think I set my hopes a little too high for this one as I absolutely loved his brother, Trace's book and thought that might be the case for this one but Tripp was extremely lack luster, slightly rude for no real good reason and honestly I didn't feel his connection or love for Chandler. Their first romantic interaction felt weird and odly staged and not at all natural.
The saving grace for me was the snipets and scenes involving the Wallace family and my fav Trace 💕💕
The story was still enjoyable enough for me to finish but it was also nothing new and so far my least favourite in this series. I am still curious how the next book will go because the little sneak peak at the end was intriguing.

I voluntarily read an early copy.
Once the ball gets rolling, so to speak, I didn't want to put the story down! Some have said Tripp is a jerk, but - much like his brother - he's really very much of the big-heart variety. He just doesn't know how to process/project what he's feeling, so sometimes it comes out... jerky. But he loves his family, his friends, his Chewy... OMH, CHEWY! Great dog-writing. : )
I love the banter between Tripp & Chandler, and the relationship he has with Trace, True, & their parents. Even the sibling rivalry/fighting, is quite fun! And the text messages - also tons of fun!!
Enjoyable read with a bit of steam, and the peek into the next book definitely has me interested to read it!
Such a fun romantic comedy.
Match making at its best.
Highly recommend this fun, fast read.
