Jon Reznick, an ex-marine Delta force commando, is relaxing at home when he is requested to meet with FBI Assistant Director Martha Meyerstein. The task is to help find a missing diplomat. But there are very few leads as to what has happened to him. They follow one lead that eventually leads to a doctor at a Washington DC hospital. After checking him out, the FBI is convinced he is not involved, but Reznick has other thoughts. After Reznick is threatened with being dumped from the investigation several times, he makes a breakthrough that points to possible Islamist terrorist activity. This is followed by long surveillance until they eventually learn that an event is about to happen. The action picks up at the end as they learn who is involved, the target, when and where.
In my opinion, this is a great sequel to Hard Road, which introduced us to Jon Reznick and Martha Meyerstein. I gave it 5 stars out of 5.
