Maisie was such a sweet character - the people pleaser in her workplace, always thinking the best of others and letting them trample all over her. Then there's Cameron, basically the office grump who keeps everyone at arms length with his surly attitude. Ha, I loved him, he was awesome. This was a really sweet and fun read, I'm looking forward to Lilah and Theo's story.
Although I had read Fauxmance (and loved it), I couldn’t really remember Cameron. But honestly, it doesn’t really matter if you’ve read Fauxmance or not. Although, the two main characters make an appearance in the book, and knowing a bit about Julien added a bit more humour to what is already a humourous situation (a bit like having an ‘in’ joke), it really didn’t ruin the story if you were none the wiser. All it’s done is given me an excuse to go back and read Fauxmance again!
I love LH Cosway’s writing style, it flows beautifully and just hits me in the heart every time. Happy Go Lucky was a completely addictive, page turning story. It was not overly angsty, just a little drama here and there to mix things up, the suspense was mild but gave the story that extra element of trying to connect the dots.
I never got around to reading this story that was originally published in the author’s newsletter, and to be honest, I’m glad I waited. It was the kind of story I wanted to read from start to finish without having to wait for the next newsletter. Now, completely edited as an official ‘book,’ it’s well worth checking out.
If you’re new to LH Cosway, this is an excellent introduction to her writing. It’s a short novel, but she manages to fit so much in you will feel like it’s a full book. If you’re an existing fan, you’ll enjoy this lighter story with the same flawless rhythm that keeps you coming back for more.
I’d highly recommend Happy Go Lucky, it’s a perfect weekend read.

Happy-Go-Lucky was good not great.
Maisie (Happy) works as a researcher for a private investigation company and Cameron is one of the investigators, apparently cold and remote. They become involved and involved in an investigation. It felt a bit lacklustre.
❝when Cameron Grant smouldered at you, it sent all your womanly parts into a frenzy.❞
When a drunken one-night stand after an office Christmas party threatens to turn into a smoldering office romance, Maisie and Cameron realize they have to find a way to deal with their feelings for one another while maintaining a working relationship. When Maisie is offered a promotion, the two make a pact to forgo romance in favor of her training as a new investigator. However, their chemistry can't be denied, and the sexual tension is testing their resolve.
There’s just something so special about Cosway’s characters! They’re endearing with the perfect amount of vulnerability. They are perfectly flawed and genuine.
Maisie Wilkins and Cameron Grant both work at James & Peterson Investigations. She was the firm's researcher and he is the head investigator. They couldn't be more different. Always a smile on her face, she's the happy-go-lucky sort, where her glass is always half-full, and no matter the situation, she finds a bright side. His perma pissed off glare, along with his bark and build make him an intimidating man. Although gorgeous, he was grumpy, grouchy and anti-social. In short, they were perfect for each other.
❝With Cameron, it was like there were more feelings inside of me than my body was capable of holding.❞
Cosway has such a unique voice. I've not found another author who sounds like her. Her words flow beuatifully and effortlessly.
A forbidden love story full of tenderness and passion, HAPPY GO LUCKY was the perfect weekend read!
Update for audio version too:
This was a 're-read' for me. I loved the performance by Stacey Holmes. Maisie is so much fun to listen to!
Maisie is a researcher at a PI firm. She is unfailing happy and friendly despite being the odd man out at the office.
At the company holiday party, she catches sight of the office grump (and always highly professional) sitting at the bar alone.
Cameron is only there because their boss told him to come. Maisie decides to approach him and thus a new path in life is begun for both of them.
She erodes his walls and doesn't even realize he does't fight her approach. He does not suffer fools lightly, so obviously he does not find her an annoying flibbertigibbet.
Not only is this a sweet, steamy romance, but it also has a mystery. A combination I adore!! Maisie is sweet, curious, optimistic, and persistent. Cameron is introverted, sexy, broody, and surprisingly sweet.
I listened to this in almost one sitting (body decided it wanted to sleep). I still feel like it gives the feel of an old Hollywood movie, like Charade or To Catch a Thief.
I received a review copy. I am voluntarily leaving an honest review.
