Product Description

"A little Christmas present for the #fans. No mystery, no killing, no twists, no guns. But I promise--you will smile the entire time." ~ JA Huss

Life in Rook & Ronin's world has been bliss for fifteen years. Rook, Veronica, and Ashleigh are still BFF's raising their kids together. Ronin, Spencer, and Ford have managed to go legit and stay out of trouble. And they have a pack of kids running around the eight thousand square foot Vail mansion they all share for the holidays--begging for gifts, and fun, and love.

But every HEA has problems.

Five is fifteen and getting ready to go off to college. He's put it off as long as he could in order to stay close to Princess Shrike, but his stay of execution is over and in three weeks he's off to Oxford. But Five can't leave until he gets the only thing he's ever wanted. The heart of his Princess.

Ford and Ashleigh never had any more children after Five. And now that Kate is sixteen, Ashleigh is out of her head with desire for just one more chance to have a baby in the house.

Rook and Ronin have two beautiful daughters, but Sparrow is growing up too. And she just got a job offer that has Ronin crazed with paternal worry.

And Spencer is the father of a fifteen-year-old princess who looks way too much like her Bombshell mother for his comfort level.

Join the whole Rook & Ronin gang for a Team Christmas you will never forget.

It's been a long and wonderful journey following these character's and being in this world. I've read all the way from Tragic to this one (including the DDD series, MMITD, Wasted Lust and 321) over a few weeks so while the events revisited are still pretty fresh, they still evoke all the memories of when I was actually reading them the first time around.
It switches POV enough to catch up on each family (Ronin, Ford and Spencer) without the confusion and also adding Five's POV and his quick development into adulthood. It's pretty short but covers everything it needs to, failing that there is also the EOBS that adds a little more

I've got mixed feelings about this not being the final book and instead being the one to set the scene for Five's story and later possibly the other kids too. OMG Huss is the Company! LOL! Every kid is a new potential story, and since there'll always be more children it'll never end!
Yeah I'm pretty sure I need to put this series down for awhile lol

I seriously loved this! It was so realistic to see where Rook and Ronin, Ford and Ashleigh, and Spencer and Veronica were in each of their relationships. As well as how they are also still such a parts of each others lives still. It's wasn't some fantasy "everything has been perfect" in the last fifteen years, instead it showed how many real relationships evolve over time. Each of the ladies were in places emotionally either I'd been before, or I have friends that have voiced the same issues. I've heard the same things or similar things from the men in my life.
What I loved even more, was seeing what all the kids were up to, and how their personalities and interests were so unique to each of them, and reflected parts of their parents or their families. I loved how this was tied around such a significant time of year, and how that brought each of the couples full circle in different ways.
I'll always hope for more story for these couples, even in small ways, woven into other stories, because I just love these characters so much.

I try really, really hard to not be one of those really...friendly...readers who find a series they love, with characters they adore, and storylines that throw your emotions like a boomerang - only to finish the series and do ANYTHING (beg, threaten, pay off, beg some more) in order for the Author to either carry on the series. Or to create a spin off with the side characters or children, just to get a chance glimpse back into the world in which we tumbled into.
I do.
I try really hard.
But J A Huss does things to me.
As I eagerly flipped through this beautifully constructed finale to this 12 book series, I felt torn. I couldn't read it fast enough. But I also didn't ever want it to end. Ever.
Switching between the boys POV's I got to take a look at life 15 years on from the birth of Five.
I was reaquainted with Ronin, Ford and Spencer. As well as Five, giving me an all access pass to every room in the Vale mansion the all occupy for Christmas.
I met new characters, and said goodbye to others.
It was perfection. I could not have asked for a better conclusion to these books.
So as I crawled my way to the end of the book, full of dejection and completion.
And I found that towards the end I was pleading, no, begging the book to keep going. Just one more chapter!
I may not ready to say goodbye to these characters. But with a finale written the way this one is, I was left with beautiful closure.
Yes I want more from Rook, Ronin and the whole gang. But this book says it all. I honestly don't think there is anything left to say.
J A Huss has completed one of the best series I have read. Ever.
I was left so completely satisfied that, even though I didn't WANT to, I was able to say goodbye to Rook, Ronin, Ford, Ashley, Spencer and Ronnie.
Their story was epic.
And it truly was a Happily Ever After.

Can not wait for my next J A Huss adventure.
