Product Description

When Rebecca Weller’s pounding, dehydrated head woke her at 3am, yet again, she stared at the ceiling, wondering why the hell she kept doing this to herself. At 39 years of age - and a Health Coach, no less - she knew better than to down several bottles of wine per week. Her increasingly dysfunctional relationship with alcohol had to stop, but after decades of social drinking, she was terrified of what that might mean.

How could she live a joyful existence, without alcohol? How would she relax, socialise, or celebrate - without wine?

In sheer frustration, on a morning filled with regret and tears, she embarks on a 3-month sobriety experiment that becomes a quest for self-discovery, and ultimately, transforms her entire world.

A heartfelt, moving, and inspiring story for anyone who has ever had to give up something they loved in order to get what they truly wanted.

A Happier Hour is a memoir that moves beyond addiction, giving a behind-the-scenes look into what it takes to get (and stay) sober in a culture that celebrates alcohol.

Loved this easy and heartfelt read. The first chapter was enough for me to realise that I too was ready for sobriety. Having this during my first few days was like having a supportive friend. Thank you Rebecca! X

As an Australian woman in her late thirties, I can relate to Rebecca's story so much. Bex is successful in every area of her life except one - controlling her drinking. From unexpected blackouts to hiding her drinking from loved ones, her love of alcohol and her identity as the life of the party is destroying her. And the worst part is the toll it takes on her self esteem - she finds it harder and harder to reconcile her role as a health coach with the way she obliterates herself on weekends. But then she has a series of breakthroughs and chooses to try a "sober experiment" that leads her to all the answers she's been seeking. To freedom. Bex's positivity and uplifting messages have convinced me that I too can pursue a sober life and be happier than I ever imagined. And for this, I can't thank her enough.

LOVED this book. Devoured it within a day. I related, re-lived, cringed and cried. Your struggle with drinking is so similar to mine. I have been attempting to live a life of sobriety for the last 7 years but my inner booze beast has always had the upper hand. Reading your story on how you overcame your desire for drink by living a life of love, passion and beauty is truly inspirational. Just reading this book has given me the hope that maybe, just maybe I can actually devote myself to my soul's desires (and not the drink) and live an authentic life of joy and happiness. Cheers to you Rebecca for being brave enough to share your story. The women of the world need to read this to see that a life of sexy sobriety is truly possible.
