How are ratings calculated?
To calculate the overall star rating and percentage breakdown by star, we don’t use a simple average. Instead, our system considers things like how recent a review is and if the reviewer bought the item on Amazon. It also analyses reviews to verify trustworthiness.

I love John Marquards books so much! I wish that there were living artists who could write like this. There probably are, but I just haven't found them yet.

Upper Crust Over Baked

Perhaps before committing to the book one should read the background of the author. I was not aware of his background or when the book was written. Perhaps his style fit the reading public in the 1940's and 1950's but I would say that it is now dated. Only one character in the book did I "like" but she did not get enough air time. I felt that no one could be as naive as the main character and function in his family and business role. Far too many dialogues with the main character that did not add much of anything to the story.
