It was just another day in the life of being a small town cop.
I’m a protector at heart, and always have been.
Which is why I stepped up immediately after finding out I had a kid.
Well…to be honest, I didn’t believe it at first.
I actually thought it was a prank when the little girl was brought into the station.
It took a paternity test for me to really feel the gravity of the situation.
Fine, I didn’t handle it well at all.
But when I had proof Emily was really mine, nothing would stand in the way of me protecting her.
I may have gone a little overboard.
At least, that’s what my sexy neighbor thinks.
But what does she know? She let my kid drink out of a garden hose!
Sure, I did it as a kid, but I’m bald now. What if drinking out of a hose at such a young age ruined my chances of having a decent head of hair?
Am I really supposed to allow my child to be put in danger like that?
But the more I hang around with Katka, the harder I find it to ignore the logic in what she’s saying.
Maybe it’s the late night dancing she performs for me.
Or her crazy family that thinks I’m not good enough.
Whatever it is about her, it drives me to the edge.
All I think about is her.
All I want is her.
But she doesn’t want a kid.
Despite the passion building between us, I’m not the man she’s looking for.
I’ll just have to find a way to prove I’m exactly what she needs.

About the author

I'm a stay at home mom that loves to read. Some of my favorite titles are Pride and Prejudice, Harry Potter, Lord of the Rings, and Horatio Hornblower. I started writing when I was trying to come up with suggestions on ways I could help bring in some extra money. I came up with the idea that I could donate plasma because you could earn an extra $500/month. My husband responded with, "No. Find something else. Write a blog. Write a book." I didn't think I had anything to share on blog that a thousand other mothers hadn't already thought of. I decided to take his challenge seriously and sat down to write my first book, Jack. I was surprised at how much I enjoyed writing. From there, the stories continued to flow and I haven't been able to stop. I hope my readers enjoy my books as much as I enjoy writing them. Between reading, writing, and taking care of three small kids, my days are quite full.

"Ah? Is good, yes? Is for flashlight. Now, we hunting like real men with batteries."
The whole gifting Oci every Sunday lunch just steps up a notch now that Jake has to compete with Lucas I wonder what he will bring to win over the head of the Tomas family.
The relationship between Neighbours Katka and Lucas is one of laughter yet also so much seriousness as Lucas navigates being a new dad who can't losen the rains where it comes to the safety of his daughter and Katka who doesn't want to lose her freedom and be tied down with a family like her sister's are. Yet can Lucas change her mind or can little Emily worm her way into Katka's heart that she doesn't ever see her being apart from both father and daughter.
As always there are a few bumps in the road for the couples and this is no exception when it comes to Lucas, and boy talk about OMG the tears at reading about Lucas having to go through that and worry about leaving his daughter behind..I knew Alyssa was shady in some way since she got to town if only she had spoken sooner to Lucas.
I love the way that no matter what the town is ready and willing to step in and lend a helping hand even though most of the time they are just invading your privacy to put on the town fb page. Lucas and Tyler may be partners on the beat but they are brothers that stand by the other no matter what.Loved reading this book and most certainly would give more than a 5 star rating if I could..Boy just the photo images and cover that goes along with this book is enough to make you want to read it, what could possibly make a grown man don a Tutu.
I am absolutely in hysterics that ending was just what was needed Mrs Cranston finally got what she was always looking for Hot men to ogle after and Katkas mum being included in that debauchery is just the icing on the cake. Who doesn't wish their birthday was every month of the year. HAHA Great ending and so sad it's over.
The surprise Lucas receives at the beginning of the book was something that I did not see coming at all! That being said, I loved that he stepped up and made every effort to make it work. He’s been the joker and the sidekick throughout this series, but he really showed what he was made of when things took an unexpected turn.
Katka certainly made it clear that she had no interest in his life, even though she had a certain interest in the man himself. Then her parents got involved, and she defended Lucas all the way. I love her dad, Oci, and I just know he uses reverse psychology on all of his children lol
I got to the end of the book and was sad. Not because the book wasn’t full of all the twists and turns I’ve come to expect from a Giulia Lagomarsino book, but because this is the last one in the series. I knew that when I started the book, but that didn’t stop me from wanting more, which to me means the entire series, and its predecessors, are fantastic reads.
Katka loves her freedom and can’t think of anything worse than being tied down, particularly with a family like her sisters are, but she didn’t expect Lucas.
Lucas has his world thrown upside down and he notices Katka, he just has to get her to notice him.
With Lucas not having any idea about raising a child, the town who helps with everything is there to support him. Can Emily change Katka mind, and how will her family react to Lucas.
Sad to see the series end.
