I think I have wasted my money on this book. Author seems more focused on self promotion than anything else. Personal anecdotes of little value. Completely irrelevant photos of the author and her family. Also a lot of padding, eg yoga exercises. I am almost 80 years old and don't think I need pages explaining, with diagrams, how to pass a stool! (sorry for the euphemism)Recipes often contain items not easily found in supermarkets. I suggest you go to MIchael Mosley's book on the same subject. More substantial content and better recipes.
I gave it to my mum (who normally likes books like this) too ask her opinion of it, and she gave it me back with the comment "how boring" and even she didn't think much to the recipes.
I appreciate this could have been my own fault for not looking further into it before purchasing but I thought it sounded really good when Chris spoke about it, and the food that Megan took in to the show sounded delicious. The recipes however, contained really way - out ingredients that I wouldn't know where to buy.
I didn't want a yoga book either..
I had such high expectations of this book and it was such a let down. I gave 2 stars because she knows what she's talking about and she came across as a really lovely person in Chris's show! It's just nothing like I was expecting.
10/5 stars! If I could, I would rate this book 10 stars as this is a book that everyone should buy and read. Gut health is something very exciting that is fortunately starting to make more of an appearance across media. I have followed Dr. Megan Rossi for over a year and have also been fortunate enough to meet her at few events. Not only is she SUPER knowledgable but also extremely smiley, energetic and clearly very passionate about the subject.
This book is half textbook/recipe book which makes it extra digestible and ultra useful. Think nutrients, sleep hygiene, exercise and all sorts of evidence based information about gut issues.
I have made 4 recipes so far and I am definitely going to plan this week’s meals based on her book.
Please buy, you will not regret it!!
I’m about half way through and blown away! I’ve done lots of Ibs research and had so many mixed messages, she cuts through all of that to the core. It’s broken down so clearly and easy to understand, and feels incredibly practical and like I can actually make genuine changes and improvements in my life, even helping with keeping track of my strategies and how to implement habits. I can’t wait! And the whole way it feels like she understands my pain and struggle, and is helping take away my worries.
I’d recommend this book to anyone with Ibs or gut issues, the best info I’ve ever got

Packed with loads of nourishing and mouth watering recipes. For tomorrow’s breakfast I’ve got my eye on page 202 ..chickpea crepes with creamy feta and fungi.....can’t wait.

I found this book via the kindle store after wanting to educate myself in gut health. i downloaded a few samples of books but this is one the one i liked the most.
I then found Megan on instagram, i asked her a couple of questioned re food and she even responded to me (some times these people think they're too good to respond, but Megan did)
I have only made little changes to my diet but its made SUCH A DIFFERENCE!!!! i think this book is amazing, its informative, and has some amazing recipes.
I suffer with Crohn's and this has been a very interesting book to read.
I'm looking forward to trying all the recipes, we've done a couple so far and I love the fermenting section.
Would definitely recommend to anyone struggling with their gut health.
