The principle purpose of the book was to explain the history of the "climate change" movement, how it is rooted in political ideology and not science, and how there are vested interests he calls the "Climate-Industrial-Complex" which seek to profit and obtain a disproportionate amount of power over citizens and nations around the world.
Some of the roots of radical environmentalism lie in Nazi Germany who were some of the first to propose renewable energy, who wrote about sun worship and practiced eugenics and population control which are aspects of today's modern climate movement.
In technical detail the author explains how the economics of renewable energy have failed compared to traditional carbon forms of energy and provides examples such as Germany and California and he also writes about the key role Sweden has played in the environmental movement.
Finally, he explains how any scientific debate is shut down through tactics such as the "spiral of silence" by the "Climate-Industrial-Complex" who consist of NGOs, government agencies, oligarchs, and green tech companies.
You don't have to agree with the author on every point, but he certainly raises valid concerns and brings to light a very inconvenient history of the environmental movement.
