Product Description

Growing up in the small coastal town of Florida, Grayson Blackwood has defied the odds stacked against him. Appearances on the outside can be very deceiving. Coming from a wealthy family with an abusive father that won’t ever change, he’s determined to be a better man. Grayson is fighting for his family, his country, and the only woman he’s ever loved.

Ella Anderson has lived a hard life, growing up with a sick mom and a less than upstanding father. From hand-me-downs to food stamps, life was never easy for her family. But the one thing she could always count on was her family’s love, and for Ella, that was the most precious commodity.

When Ella moves to Lakeview, she meets Grayson in high school. The attraction is immediate for both. Dubbed as ‘just friends’, Grayson and Ella forge an undeniable friendship that leads to a powerful promise.

After high school, Ella and Grayson fall out of touch. A one-in-a-million chance meeting halfway around the globe brings the couple back together in a lifeless desert land, a combat zone where death is always present.

Alpha in his own right, Captain Blackwood leads his special ops team into a war-torn country, determined to take down a terrorist, while Ella struggles with the realization that Grayson has found her again.

Will their love survive time and their harsh separation from long ago? Can Grayson show Ella that they were made for each other?

Bluebirds mate for life. And Grayson’s Bluebird is coming home.

***Author’s Note: This is a full-length standalone novel with a happily ever after ending and no cliffhanger.  Due to strong language and sexual content, this book is not intended for readers under the age of 18.***

Grayson by FG Adams is book 1 in the This is our Lives series, which can be read as a standalone. The book is set in beautiful Lake View, Florida and is the story of Grayson Blackwood and Ella Anderson.
"your my bluebird Ella”
Grayson Blackwood is a survivor of a life from living with an abusive father in there well of ranch style house.
“Blood is what he requires to sate his demented craving. His anger is palpable. It feeds his monster, the monster his father created in him, passed from father to son, from generation to generation.
Ella Anderson has lived a hard life having the weight of helping her sick mum, taking care of her brother, school and helping to pay the bills by working.
“You have thought enough my little Bluebird, its time to come home”
Ella and Grayson met at school and a friendship beyond strong developed,
The Author really pulls you in with the characters emotions, the secondary characters are just as well written as Grayson and Ella are. I was able to read the whole book in one day it pulled me in that much, i loved the dul POV and the book did not end on a cliffhanger, I would definitely recommend this book and give it a 4 out of 5 great stars, i can not wait to read more books from this author.
This was a first book from FG Adams and was a fantastic book to start with.

5.0 out of 5 stars Incredible Debut Novel! A Must Read! 13 April 2016
By Jen C. - Published on
Format: Kindle Edition
Grayson Blackwood has lived his own private hell for his entire life. He just wants to make it through his senior year of high school, then he can get the hell out of Lakeview, Florida. His dream of being in the military is driving him and nothing is going to stop him! Or is it?

Ella Anderson has the weight of the world on her shoulders. She’s the responsible one, the caregiver, the student, and the breadwinner in her family. At 18 years old, that’s almost too much to bear. Ella is sweet and kind, beautiful and caring…and irresistible, especially to Grayson.

When their lives cross, a bond deeper than either imagined takes hold and never lets go.

FG Adams does an amazing job developing these characters in this first novel! You fall in love with them and go on this journey with them, rooting for them all the way! The characters and their POV is refreshing as you see this story from both Grayson’s and Ella’s perspectives. I love that in one fell swoop, you know how both of them feel, which makes you want even more for them to have a happy ending! They are both strong and vulnerable and focused and determined! Grayson is the first in the This is Our Life series by FG Adams. After sharing time with Grayson and Ella, I can’t wait to see what is in store for the rest of the series! Great job by FG Adams on this debut novel! We have a wonderful new author in our midst! Be sure to check out this book!
5.0 out of 5 stars I absolutely loved this book and everything about it 11 April 2017

First time for me reading this author(s) and it will not be the last.
I absolutely loved this book and everything about it. The writing, the story the characters.
It was one of those books that made me swoon, cry and laugh out loud and swoon some more. It also had me biting my nails and sitting at the edge of my seat with some of the more suspenseful scenes.
I enjoyed the timeline in the book which was actually over several years. We get the early year of them and then the later when they reunite and even after that. We learn what has happened in those years between so we really don’t miss a lot, which was great. While there was an instant attraction for them, I liked that they build up to their relationship over time. We see them grow and grow with each other.
Neither of them had a great childhood really and both had some rough times but they both stood strong and on their course, or made a new course for them.
I also really enjoyed the characters, they were easy to relate to and very enjoyable.
Grayson while very much an alpha male through and through, he also has a sweet and tender side to him, not to mention his sexy and funny side. I loved his nickname for Ella and the story behind it.
Ella, beautiful, sweet and funny Ella. I enjoyed following her through the book and see her grow not just older but as a person.
I loved them even more together, sweet, sexy, funny and most of all perfect for each other.
Overall I really enjoyed this book and feel like I gained some new awesome friends. I’m looking forward to read the next two books in the series.
I rate this book 5 ★
4.0 out of 5 stars I fell for the friendship these two built and for the love they created from that bond 16 January 2017

Grayson by FG Adams is the first book in the This is Our Life series. As with most new-to-me authors, I go in with a little nervousness, but FG Adams quickly blew that nervousness right out of the water. I was drawn into the story of a boy from the right neighborhood, the right upbringing befriending the girl from the wrong side of the tracks. I fell for the friendship these two built and for the love they created from that bond.

As some 18 year old boys are wont to do, Grayson joins the military. Set on the path of protecting his country, he heads overseas and leaves his Bluebird behind. Hoping she will wait for him, he is devastated when she chooses to move on.

But what happens when a chance encounter drops these two together again? Will they rekindle what they once had? Will they pursue each other or leave it at a young love gone south? Drama, new flames, old love, and life stand between these two, but can anything really keep Grayson from his Bluebird? What is he willing to do to make her his again?

“Destiny has a funny way of tracking you down and making you surrender.”

Boy, isn’t that the truth. Destiny, fate, kismet. Call it what you will, these two cannot avoid each other. They cannot stay apart. The connection is real and deep and strong.

I enjoyed this story and plan to continue with future books. If you need angst and an HEA, this is the book.

5.0 out of 5 stars FANTASTIC READ!! I LOVE THESE CHARACTERS! 19 August 2016
By Martha - Published on

F.G. Adams has written one of the best book I have read in a long time. I truly felt as though I was there and not just reading words. I couldn’t put it down!
Grayson needs to run faster and get to his hiding place before the monster can get him. He knows it is only a matter of time before it happens again. The beatings are relentless but if he does catch Grayson at least he can go to his safe place in his mind until it is over. That is how it is when you live under the thumb of someone who wants to control every aspect of your life because he thinks it will bring discipline and keep the good name Blackwood untarnished. No one knows what goes on behind closed doors. Grayson is just biding his time as he grows into his own life. Making the grades and playing sports is one step closer, also joining ROTC at school shows his leadership skills that he will need to advance his life. His senior year everything changes, he falls in love.
Ella has a life full of responsibilities a girl her age should not have to take on. Her family needs her for everything and as hard as it is she meets those responsibilities. They live in a seedy part of town and have to scrape by. She loves her family, her mother tries so hard to help Ella and some days are better than others. Her father is a con man and always on the run from someone. Ella just wants to get through until she can leave and never look back. Her senior everything changes, she falls in love.
Life can change a lot of things except the love Grayson and Ella share. He joins the military so he will be able to stand on his own two feet and take care of his Bluebird. They become separated for a very long time because of the actions the monster, Grayson grew up with, raised his ugly head again. Now Grayson is the Captain of his team and they are in the battle of a lifetime. There is an explosion and bullets are flying and Grayson ends up in a medic helicopter. Ella has joined the service and now is a nurse, and has moved on with her life. Can Grayson and his Bluebird find each other again and rebuild the love that has never let go of their hearts even after all these years?
Thank you so much F.G. Adams for sharing your talent with this amazing story. It is so well written! I can’t wait for the next installment!! A must read.

5.0 out of 5 stars The bluebird and the bulldozer 20 August 2016

WOW, F.G. Adams is an amazing writer. She never disappoints. Her books are so action packed. They hit right in the feelings and it's hard to let go of her characters after you have read the book.
Grayson is the only boy in his family, with 3 older sister who have moved away are got free of their tyrant father. He now gets the brunt of his father's anger, but Grayson feels that it's okay as long as the anger stay away from his mother and little sister. His grandmother knows everything and he cherishes her so much. To say his life doesn't has any light is an understatement. He is just biding his time till he is off in the military. what he wasn't expecting was his bluebird. he didn't anticipate her back in high school nor years later at the military hospital.
Ella has the weight of the world on her shoulder's. Her mother is slowly dieing and her father is a drifter, he drifts in and out of their lifes. That leaves Ella to take care of her little brother. What she never expected was Grayson, he came into her life like a bulldozer. They were inseparable till he graduated, even then they were going to try long distance. She was it for him. That was until an outside force does the unthinkable and manages to break them up. Now 6 years later fate has other things in mind. Just when she is about to move one here comes the bulldozer again ready to turn everything upside down. Ella doesn't know what to do she just wants to be Ella, but denying Grayson is like denying her body nourishment. When you and your best friend gets kidnapped it kind of puts stuff into perspective. Can Grayson get to Ella in time, or is she really gone from him forever?

F.G. Adams is definitely at the top of my favorite authors list. Her plots take you to a dark side only to come out of it on the lighter side. Ella is such a strong woman, but at times I wanted to punch her. I can picture her in my mind being stubborn and trying to stop her destiny from happening. Grayson wow Grayson is a sexy man. He is strong but can be brought down to his knees when it comes to Ella. They balance each other out. It's perfect.
