Product Description

In Australia, love blossoms in the bush.

Life in the far west is more challenging than Thea expects - men carrying guns, huge spiders, murky water, what will she find next? She finds Bruce, a very attractive single man who is in desperate need for a woman's touch to help with his two young daughters. Attraction is immediate, but can it survive this harsh environment? A beautiful story told with gentle humour and an authenticity only possible from an author with an intimate knowledge of outback life.

I felt like I was reading a children's story. I felt it was poorly written. On 1 page I counted the nameThea more than 7 times. Lots of spelling errors as well.

5.0 out of 5 stars Good Australian Country Story 23 July 2016

I don't often review books, because I am not a writer.
This story deserves someone to say some thing good about it though.
I really loved reading the whole book. Descriptions of country life and the importance of being involved in one's community rang very true to me.
Keep writing Victoria. I wish my mother was still with us, as it would have appealed to her totally.. yes we are country folk..
Will there be book #3?.. I hope so.
5.0 out of 5 stars ... Governess’ set in the Australian Outback follows the developing love story of Thea and Bruce who already have appeared ... 30 July 2016
By Prue Galley - Published on Amazon.com
Format: Kindle Edition
‘The Governess’ set in the Australian Outback follows the developing love story of Thea and Bruce who already have appeared in the first book of “The Opal Ridge Series” by Victoria Capper. Although the book is complete and stands by itself many familiar characters from the first book are reintroduced and their stories expanded much to my delight.
It is a gentle tale of a young city girl who finds herself in an alien environment when she takes up the position of governess to Bruce’s two small daughters on ‘Kalanoa” station. Bruce is a man who has been hurt by life having been betrayed by his wife leaving him to care for daughters Kirsty and Carla with the help of his lovable but aging Aunt Bessie.
This book centres around life in the homestead. Thea has so much to learn about country life and initially seems overwhelmed but she proves to be more resilient than expected. She emerges as the perfect woman for Bruce as she masters the many skills of living away from the city and becomes a much loved presence in the country household. It takes time for both parties to realise how much they love each other but when they do.............
I thoroughly enjoyed reading this book. It has added to my knowledge of aspects of life in the Australian Outback that began with the first book of “The Opal Ridge Series”. I am now eagerly looking forward to reading the next volume.
3.0 out of 5 stars Unusual 15 September 2016

I read the first book and was dismayed that the first 40_50% of this book was what I had already read.. we knew she left and Bruce wanted to marry her. Yet the book starts out from the beginning.. very odd to me. The last half was pretty good.
2.0 out of 5 stars I really wanted to love this, but couldn't. 20 September 2016

This book is too wordy, and the time frame too long. It was nice to read a book from someone who knew the outback. The things she described were great. But the basic romance got lost anonymous the way. I had great hopes for this story...
