He is a man of control and bitter self-importance. Woman are his trophies. Tracey will be his next, on HIS terms... but Tracey has a secret.
The Good Woman is a short story that explores the themes of sexuality, discrimination, strength, and revenge. I was inspired to write this story based on the memory of "chauvinistic pigs" during my school years. Now that I am older and hopefully wiser, I can appreciate that hate and anger come from fear and self-loathing so I wanted to explore the notion of a man stuck in his boyhood skin. A boy who sees woman as possessions and is closed to love.
The Good Woman is inspired by the notion of such a boy staying within his high school niche confines and refusing to grow beyond his self built walls. Would his attitude and intolerance finally catch up with him and visit upon him karmic revenge?
In the simplest terms, The Good Woman is about ultimate pay-back.
But that is just the start. During my university studies, I wrote a short film script adapted from my short story. This script explores just some of the struggles for such a boy. For a fleeting moment, he has the opportunity to become a good man. The short script is included with the short story as an exploration of actions and consequences.
Also, there is a bit of self-promotion at the end with excerpts from my novel “Awakening” and book of poetry “Love, Life and Evisceration” - both available on Amazon.
I hope you enjoy The Good Woman.
