I often describe this novel as ‘her husband did whaaaat?’ And I love the authors’ fresh take on the aftermath of affairs and relationship deception. When Jacqueline ‘Jacks’ Morales’s husband of eight years dies in a car accident, she is, of course, devastated. After she learns that he was not in Kansas on business at the time of the crash but instead died alongside another woman—his mistress—she joins forces with Nick, the other woman’s fiancé, to investigate the events that led up to their partners’ deaths. All is not what it seems, and Jacks soon learns that her husband had much more than a mistress to hide.
Liz and Lisa’s debut placement on the suspense shelf has it all: drama, suspense and characters you can’t forget. As a reader, I love losing myself in a great book, and I’ll admit I’m a little jealous that you’ll be reading The Good Widow for the first time.
