From the Inside Flap
When the skeletal remains of a young woman are found in desolate woodland near a motorway, evidence suggests they belong to teenager Molly James who went missing five years ago.
Forensic psychologist Dr Kate Hanson and the Unsolved Crime Unit are called in to re-examine Molly's case. The original investigation of the girl's disappearance left a myriad of unanswered questions and dead-ends, but the discovery of a body now means there's a multitude of answers to comb through as well.
But when a second set of remains is unearthed nearby, Kate suspects that they are looking for a Repeater: a killer who grows and adapts, and will not stop until caught. Can Kate and her team unravel the tangle of clues left by the killer before he has the chance to snatch another victim?
GONE IN SECONDS is a blistering, relentless debut announcing the start of a major new forensic crime fiction series featuring Dr Kate Hanson.

What follows is a fascinating and painstaking investigation which carefully pieces together the evidence necessary to convict a cunning and resourceful criminal. I found it compelling story which is well written and has an authentic feel to it because of the author's own background.
If you enjoy crime stories which don't have too much bad language or graphic violence then you may enjoy this one. I liked Kate as a character and I thought the sometimes spiky relationship between Kate and her police colleagues was very well done. I felt as though I was a fly on the wall in their office. Well worth reading and I'm about to start the second book in the series.
