Robb cleverly celebrates the golden anniversary, so to speak, of her legendary Eve Dallas series. In the book itself she proves definitively that she has the golden touch when it comes seamlessly fusing danger-spiked plots, propulsive pacing, and a sexy partnership between a tough-as-nails heroine and the man of mystery who complements her in the best possible fashion. - Booklist"The prolific Nora Roberts, writing the series under the pen name J.D. Robb, pulls off the page-turning trifecta again: an edge-of-your-seat murder mystery sprinkled with a storybook romance and a team of cops you can't help rooting for.The 50th book proves this series truly is the gold standard." - Associated Press on Golden in Death "The gripping plot builds to a dramatic finale. Robb shows no sign of losing steam." - Publishers Weekly

This book earned it's five stars, I look forward to recommending it to all my friends and I expect to reread it several times over the years.
What I loved most about Golden in Death is the strength and balance Eve and Roarke have built up over the past 50 books both in the work and professional lives, it has been an absolute privilege to read and follow along with them through this journey and Golden in Death was another gripping thriller.
my favorite laugh out loud quote from this wonderful story was "You're going to pay for this." "I'm standing right here looking at you naked, with bed hair and a bad disposition. I've already paid."
this is just so Eve I couldn't help but burst out laughing.
My only bug with the book and it's minor no Mavis and no Nadine this one seemed news worthy but no Nadine apart from that the story was sold, the characters as always exceptional especially the bad guys they are always well written.
Another awesome read.
Top international reviews
The investigation covers a part of society to which Robb returns often, and her battles with lawyers, arrogant spoilt brats, and those who consider themselves above the law are well up to standard. No spoilers, but you really have to read Peabody's response to someone who pours scorn on Dallas, state school attendees, and Free-Agers - brilliant!
While I can see no value in the sex passages between Dallas and Roarke - possibly a hangover from the days of M&B and the requirement for sex every so many pages - there are some genuinely moving moments between the two of them, and I'm living in hope that Eve's finally getting rid of some of the unnecessary baggage from her past, which, at one stage in the series, became almost a cut-and-paste in every book.
Golden in Death is worth every penny, and now I'll have to wait at least another 6 months for the next one to appear.
It was lacking in the normal sparkling dialogue between the characters and any interest in the plot didn't start until a third of the way through and then it was nothing special.
I have given this book 4 starts because I am a great fan of Nora Roberts, but had it been written by another author I would probably given it 2 stars.
Sorry Nora but not one of your best.
One minor thing: maybe not everyone would say/think 'because boss' or similar - some would use a complete phrase. Peabody might if Dallas does, but Grange too? Other than that I loved it. Can't wait for the next one: I always pre-order then get a nice surprise when it appears in my library.
I am hopelessly in love with Roake, I want the lieutenant as my bff forever. I adore the conversations had with Roarke and Peabody so hilarious. Love you Madam Robb.Xxx keep up the good work. Xx
This book has the feel of a psychological drama with little action but more focus on Eves deductive skills..
