How are ratings calculated?
To calculate the overall star rating and percentage breakdown by star, we don’t use a simple average. Instead, our system considers things like how recent a review is and if the reviewer bought the item on Amazon. It also analyses reviews to verify trustworthiness.

After a bit of a slow start this story starts cranking and finishes with a roar. The action is good and the world well-imagined. I like how the broader universe and it’s players are slowly revealed. The pacing is a bit inconsistent at times and the supporting characters could do with more development. I enjoyed the character development and magic system. It’s a shame the MC’s character seems such a mixed up mess in terms of abilities, etc, He seems to dabble in so many different thing without any real direction. Hopefully the events at the end give his future path more focus.

Our MC starts expanding his guild and improving the lives of the villagers around him. Whilst building alliances with Orc tribes and building up the walls of his Guild city, the MC does not particularly concentrate on one skill and consider how this could be used to defend, but seems to float amongst his skills. On the plus side, there is some innovative use of magic & enchanting, and quite a few learning experiences for all characters.

An energizing tale of overcoming the obstacles we put in front of ourselves and building friendships. I enjoyed the humor and action with the characters building well. So mich more to come from this crew.

I saw this series and decided to try it out and I'm so glad i did. I like the connection to Ivan's other series and the idea of a shared multiverse.

A fun read

This is a really entertaining book. Bubblegum for the brain, but who doesn't enjoy some bubblegum now and again?
The story is fun and well paced with plenty of action. I already bought the sequal which is also pretty good so far.

Absolutely, Beyond a Shadow of a Doubt, The Worst Book I've Ever Read
Reviewed in the United States on 9 March 2019Verified Purchase
I read the first one. I read it. I thought it was cheesy, but I read it. I picked up the second one and it's been a day. I cannot return it for a refund, as much as I would like to. The reason I want to return it deals with the fact that this book is utter and complete crap. It's garbage, wrapped in rabbit feces, lit on fire. It smells bad, tastes bad, looks bad.
There was an error (Mater vs Matter) in the second sentence. Two sentences. The character are repeating nonsense most of the conversation, either in the actual dialogue, or in the following paragraphs of horse-crap. Sometimes I read things I don't agree with. This isn't one of those things. This is reading something a high school junior threw together and didn't bother proofing first.
It starts downhill and rolls down fast and hard, becoming a steaming pile of garbage that explodes at the bottom. It's poorly written, poorly developed, poorly edited, and poorly thought.
If literature is art in word form, this is the 2nd grader drawing a stick figure taking a dump in "Art" class.
Get an editor. This should never have been published.

Almost stopped
Reviewed in the United States on 20 August 2020Verified Purchase
Ok I will admit after finishing this book I almost stopped reading. The adventure fell off a little bit and it wasn't really any one particular thing, its just the adventure just felt lacking. You have basically the same threats carrying over from the previous book and the only progression comes at the end.
Now despite all that i have read to book 5 so far and believe me the author re-energizes the story. The progression of the main arc continues and the characters pursue what they were always meant to.
Sorry if this review is confusing, to put it simply this book in my opinion was just barely good enough to make me continue onto the 3rd, which i do believe is worth the read.

An okay read
Reviewed in the United States on 3 June 2019Verified Purchase
The quality of this book is pretty much the same as the first, it’s an okay read but nothing earth shattering or too deep or symbolic. This time around we are getting more sprinklings of sci-fi and multiverse elements throw in when chapters are devoted to the god who is not a god. Honestly the guy kind of reminds me of the Beyonder from spider-man. The book is still a litrpg with spread sheets and leveling up but I felt like that stuff was toned down a bit. I didn’t care for the revision to Morgan’s backstory but it’s fine. Most of the story builds to the big battle with the goblin horde and this time we have some time devoted to creating something of a villain for our heroes to face off against. I’d like to see some new dungeons in the future and again less of the summary writing and telling. But overall this is a book that you read like a movie you watch just to eat the popcorn. You don’t have to think much. The jokes are pretty obvious and the combat is fair to exciting. It’s not the best litrpg I’ve read but it is much, much, much better than some of the terrible books out there.
